There is plenty of public evidence to attest to this. I know I am asking you to take me at my word here, but there is also plenty of private evidence that I was - frankly - quite shocked by. Over the months, I don't think the mods have always dealt with Jay as well as we should. There are probably a dozen points in the past where we, or Jay, could have done things differently and avoided this. Hopefully we as a team take lessons from that. But at the end of the day, at this point, the mods really didn't have other options. For all the talk that this is a big surprise, from our perspective (and, I suspect, from Jay's), its hard to see it that way. AS A USER Jay really contributed fantastically to the Xbox Community here in his own way. I like Jay personally, and from memory we've never had a bust up (hopefully he'd agree). I am disappointed with the direction he decided to take towards the end. Change is often painful, but it would have been nice if we'd all found a better way to get his new site and VGC working together. As I said above, that wasn't all Jay's fault in my view, but this is where we ended up. I would like to say I think it would be a sad indictment of the rest of us if Jay's departing meant the end of the Xbox Community here. I understand a lot of the strong feelings that clearly came out in the last 6-8 hours, I have some of my own too. But I have loved reading this thread just about every day for a year, and I love having you guys elsewhere on the forums (except Ryuu - damn cave dweller). I know being a mod has always thrown up a bit of a barrier and I have tried not to intrude on other mediums outside this site, but I greatly appreciated being involved in the Skype chat last year for E3 as well. I do agree that regulars in this thread should have a say in who takes over - it seems like Slade is emerging as a favourite, and I would wholeheartedly support that. Please do remember that myself and the other mods (especially the Xbox guys) are always happy to make thread edits if Slade is out of action here and there, just send us a PM. Cheers Starcraft |
If the owner of that site I won't even bother to name, wasn't taking us for cash cows and had any remote consideration and an ounce of respect for it's user you might have had a begining of a point.... but you don't....
people like jay and a few other across all communities on those forum are the only reason that site is still remotly worth a damn.... the quality of it's forums is an insult to modern civilization.... the content is average at best and it's charts have been degrading in accuracy....
even the advertising pop up is from an other era...
it should have been revamped half a decade ago but no it's been caving year over yaer without any change.... you probably did jay a service banning him, that site doesn't deserve people like him.....
don't get me wrong I have nothing against you and the mod community here even though I still firmly believe the rule book here is as bad as the website frame... but VGC is a sinking ghost ship ever since the man I won't name stop giving a crap...

@Tiago, where in the world did you ever get from that you aren't allowed to talk about Japanese games here? I think all of them who had a problem with it were mentioning often enough what their problem was. I guess what you would post now is also something like "mehh, guy x is working on game y but not for XBO" so that you don't post it but in general I don't know anyone here who is like "no JP games at all in this thread"
It also doesn't help that you post something just to get people curious about what you mean and when they ask you are like "I can't talk about it here". If you think you can't talk about it, why did you even post the first post? Post what you want to post or don't post about it at all but please not "I tease you guys that something happened but I don't tell you what hehe"

I believe it's a company from ioi working on mobile games. Gamewise always posts about their games on Twitter and when you check the location of that company it's the same place VGC is as well (Bromsgrove).
Maybe also only friends or something but I guess it's from ioi.

oh, gotcha.
but yeah, the lack of charts updates (seriously, the last update is from a march week) and any real progress or maintenance on this website on a lot of different areas sort of gives that away. Just a whole bunch of inconsistency that makes me (and probably a growing number of users/readers out there) really question the integrity of the charts and numbers (I know they're just estimates but the lack of updates really is hurting it even more, IMO).
OT: might pick up isolation at that price. haven't played it yet but heard mixed things about it.

Anyway, users got angry all conversations lead to Jp games, nothing else was discussed supposedly. Then I got a certain PM telling me to stop it or I would be ignored by everyone (or most).
