I still don't get why so many are against VR but most who are did also never try it or only a "bad" version like Oculus DK1 so that they maybe just can't imagine how it really feels.

So who here is excited to see what Crackdown will do with Cloud Computing this year? Are you optimistic?

Definitely. Of course it will take some time for games to really utilizing the cloud. MS can't snap their fingers and have something ready to go. But it seems that is what people expect.

I think Cloudgine and Microsoft is going to make a seripus step with Crackdown to be honest.  I think it will be our first step into what Cloud Computing can really do.

We already have seen Onlive and Nvidia Grid make use of Cloud Gaming, but that is more along the lines of Streaming.  I think with Cloud Computing you will be able to offload certain tasks from the GPU to make it a much better experience.

As for an offline mode like Shika is saying, im not sure how that will pan out yet.  I think online will be more and more of our future as time goes on and we need to take those steps.  Even if taken in baby steps, i think we need to get use to this direction.

We act as if it isnt already upon us, but it is. There is a lot of multiplayer only games like TitanFall, Battlefront, Team Fortress, Counter strike etc  And these games are not only popular, but hugely popular.  Then you go into the world of Call of Duty where its driven by its multiplayer community.

Truth is, online is already upon us and has been for a while now.

NEVERWINTER HITS 1.6 MILLION PLAYERS ON XBOX ONE

Infographic Wednesday continues with Cryptic Studios releasing initial numbers for the launch on XBox One. The numbers are big…surprisingly bigger than I would have expected. It’s only been a little over a month from Neverwinter‘s March 31st console debut and thefree to play MMORPG has already pulled in over 1.6 million players.

“As our first entry into the console market, we’re absolutely ecstatic to see the success of Neverwinter on Xbox One,” said Bryan Huang, CEO for Perfect World Entertainment. “Our goal with our online games is to create worlds that players want to play in, and support them through fine tuning their gaming experience and introducing fresh content with expansion releases.”

Microsoft is also pleased at the launch. “As the first Xbox One game to ship globally from our partners at Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios, it is exciting to see Neverwinter achieve such early success,” said Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox. “We’re thrilled gamers have embraced this unique free-to-play MMORPG on Xbox One and look forward to seeing engagement grow on the platform with new content.”

To keep the drive up, Neverwinter plans to release 5 free expansions (modules) on the XBox One version of the game by the end of the year. These would include Tyranny of Dragons and Elemental Evil, already available on PC.

Wow congrats to Neverwinter! This is why FTP games are coming more abundant this generation. You can mix quality with it if done right and the community will respond well

As much as I don't care about it.. I'm happy to see it performing well.

It's always on the list of the most played games on X1.
