"XBE Officially Becomes Most Successful VGC Thread, Most Viewed and Most Commented" on one hands that's brilliant, having such an active Xbox community, will really help encourage the Xbox users lurking to sigh up. On the other hand, when you consider how small the Xbox community is it speaks volumes on how this forum/mods have completely failed to create a fair and equal place for Xbox users , by continuously ignoring the constant Xbox bashing and to point what can only be seen as encouraging bullying to towards the Xbox minority you end up with the current situation. I don't think we should be celebrating how a handful of users batting for the minority fan base have managed to turn they're nation thread into the most successful because of why that's happened - there's really no point going outside this thread if your an Xbox user when the forum is so heavily anti MS - but that's not to take anything away from the success here, we should be celebrating the fact the small handful of us have managed to put up with the shit long enough that we are arguably the only place for Xbox users out there. So congrats guys!

Youre right.  Ironically this thread has helped grow the XB fanbase over the years, as before XBE the XB fanbase was pretty much dead.  For as much criticism this thread gets, Im glad that everybody comes in here and has a good time

Yes afterall this thread was the reason I joined VGC I wish many other Xbox owners and fans would come to this thread and find that internet has a much better place for Xbox fans to discuss and debate on things.

Didn't someone post here you could record up to half an hour on the X1? Because I tried it and the longest option was 5 min :(

I posted the launch trailer on my facebook a few days ago just to see some of my friends reaction to the beauty of that game a some of them bought it yesterday. Most bought it on PC and I can see two of my friends on X1 are playing Ori. I think MS should really consider a physical release. A lot of people just don't use internet to download their games because of stupid caps. Some sort of Arcade bundle.

I think if the reaction is loud enough they will put it in retail this holiday.  Id like to see them franchise it as well though.  Glad they put it on PC to get as many people invested in it.  I know some people arent big into the PC/XB stuff, but im personally not against it as I feel XB is the more mainstream product where PC is more core driven by people who venture the net a lot.  MSFT just needs to be smart and know what should be on PC/XB and what should only be XB.  Just my two cents anyways

We share the same view on this. I think it's important to expand a game's reach beyond single console exclusivity. Ofc choosing which games to put on what platform is still important so the platform sells but I don't buy into that "true exclusive" propaganda.

QFT!

Empire is the sole reason I still visit VGC... even if I wander in other threads at times I would be gone a long time ago if Empire didn't brought me back. I like games and I usualy get multiple consoles but I prefer Xbox. So a thread where you can voice yourself and read other positive posts about Xbox news and experiences became a necessity here on VGC.

It's a great achievement yet sad that it had to come to this.

Hmm...

On one hand, I get that as a minorty group, there is a feeling that somehow your voice and presence is lost among the noise and activity of the majority.

However.

Nothing will ever change if all you do is talk about the problems but do nothing to change the status quo. For equality and fairness, we are all held under the forum rules, whether you're a PlayStation fan or a Microsoft fan, whether you're in the vast majority or a tiny niche in the greater community. That is where our equality and fairness comes from. Interests, biases, and predispositions are thrown to the side and we are all judged by the rules that govern the site.

At the end of the day, the tower that is the XBE can continue to build story after story, level after level, and that's worth celebrating. It can grow as tall as it needs to, but it cannot widen. It can be a great place for general chat (and that it is), but it can never be the best when it comes to wider and more specific topics. Things like specific game discussion, ID sharing, competitive leagues, talking about Xbox in the greater gaming culture, etc. etc. And these wider topics have been ignored because as you said, "there's really no point going outside this thread if your an Xbox user". And I think that's a huge missed oppurtunity. Not just for the greater forums, but for Xbox discussion as well. You grow taller and taller in the XBE, but you will never grow outwards if this is what you ultimately want. The problems will always persist, and you will always have to stay here, wondering what could be.

To bring positivity and growth, it has to come from you all. The mods, PlayStation fans, and Nintendo fans cannot be the ones who forge the outside growth of the greater Xbox forums, it has to be you all. And I'm going to be the bearer of bad news on this one: you're going to be met with folks who don't share your throughts and feelings when it comes to Microsoft. And the mod team is not going to force them to change their views, as long as they post their thoughts in such a way that goes with the rules. They have the right to post what they want as much as you do. And at that point you can either choose to go back here, or continue making step after step to widen the Xbox community. It starts with bringing confident, positive change by being confident positive users. We've already seen it with The Screenshot thread, The GamerScore League, or the multiple threads on Ori and the Blind Forest. These confident, positive threads bear fruit, and that's only the beginning. But only if the reigns are taken.

You all have more power than you know, and you all have the potential to take responsibility for how the Xbox community grows from this point forward. The mods are more than happy to support confident, positive threads and posts from all of you, no matter what you may think of us. We want to see the Xbox forums grow and widen to include diverse topics, opinions, and conversations. That ultimately is how we gauge a healthy community, and we want to see that in the Microsoft forums. So for those of who's aim is to support your community in a healthy and positive manner, we're behind you 100% and will do what we can to support you. But it needs to be you that takes that leap of faith.

Anyways, further discussion on this should probably go in the Mod Thread or a PM. But I just wanted to put my thoughts out there. ^_^

Grabbing on the last straw...ridiculous. Microsoft tries too hard with their marketing.
