Supposedly he wanted to put LO on Xbox live but it was complicated, I wonder what is stopping them from doing something that seems so basic looking from the outside.

Did a little Research on Mistwalker in the last few years and this is what i found. Apparently there was a 3rd exclusive coming to X360 that got canceled by the name of Cry On. This was in 2009 Mistalker is also working on several games when asked about traditional console games but wouldnt name what they are in 2012. He did specifically name the WiiU
Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi came out swinging in 2004 when his newly formed studio Mistwalker announced a trio of new games: Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon for the Xbox 360, and Ash: Archaic Sealed Heat for the Nintendo DS. By the end of 2005, that list had grown to four, with the role-playing-game-oriented studio revealing a partnership with AQ Interactive to create the Xbox 360-exclusive action RPG Cry On.
Unfortunately, Cry On has dried its tears for good. On Christmas Day, AQ Interactive announced via its official Web site that its collaboration with Mistwalker has been canceled. The game maker attributed its decision to shelve the project to the property's uncertain franchise potential as well as current global economic conditions, which caused many game-industry casualties last year.
"To everyone who is looking forward to the release, we deeply regret that we're experiencing so much trouble," AQ Interactive said in a statement.
Blue Dragon Plus, a DS edition of Mistwalker and AQ's underwhelming Xbox 360 RPG released in August 2007, is currently in development at Ignition Entertainment. The portable game is expected to arrive on Nintendo's handheld next month.
Mistwalker Would Like To Develop Wii U Action RPGs
As you may know, The Last Story director, Hironobu Sakaguchi, is currently working on iPhone games at his design studio, Mistwalker. His first major iPhone title is titled Party Wave—a surfing game that, he reported today via his Twitter, is nearly complete. In addition to Party Wave, Mistwalker are also currently working on two other iOS titles.
However, that isn’t all they’re working on. Earlier in the year, when we asked Mistwalker if they would continue to develop traditional console and portable games after The Last Story, they shared with us: “We are working on several projects. We appreciate your interest.” When we pressed to ask if those included console or portable games, they replied: “At this moment, the only thing I can say is that we are working on several projects.”
In a recent interview with Game Zone, The Last Story’s lead game designer, Takuya Matsumoto, shared a bit more about what Mistwalker would like to do, when asked about the possibility of more action-RPGs from the studio.
“The development team and Sakaguchi-san are looking forward to making more, especially for the Wii U because it has another [screen] right in front of you that will add another level of strategic elements into the action-RPG,” Matsumoto stated. “So we are really looking forward to it, but we haven’t really planned anything.”
The Last Story was funded and published by Nintendo, and is the second Mistwalker game to be published by them. Perhaps they’ll work with Mistwalker again in the near future? After all, Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, did say the company was interested in partnering with third-parties for unique Wii U projects, and Nintendo have a habit of establishing long-term relationships with the studios they work with.

Oh and Apparently this was said in August 2014. If Terra Battle gets Downloaded 2 million times he will bring it to consoles
Mistwalker’s newest game, Terra Battle, has a shot at coming to consoles. If 2 million people download the game. Mistwalker has vowed to make a console port. Get the breakdown of stretch/download goals below.
Here’s a list of what we can expect from the Download-Starter campaign:Well….. looks like I’ll be downloading Terra Battle.
The game launches this October for Android and iOS. More information on Terra Battle can be found here.
Thanks to edniceU for the tip!
Yeah I knew about cry on, supposedly it would make us cry a lot (literally).. that was the point of the narrative. Sounded really interesting.
I shed tears 2 times with LO (don't judge me), I wonder if cry on story would be even more effective.
The last story was underwhelming, the battle system wasn't that great. He should do turn based stuff, that's where he's great.

I just looked up a trailer. It looks awful and im amazed it has gotten 1 million downloads so far -_- Maybe he will make a full fledged Terra Battle for consoles though instead of.....whatever i saw -_-

I read forza 5 was a digital code (the extra games aren't) just like fifa and AC, clearly MS doing.
UK loves racers, Xbox got the best ones. Great move imo, they aren't losing money by giving codes to first party games.
Mistwalker on Wii U? Yes please! :D
Article was from 2012 though.. so I guess that ship has sailed. :/
Shame that Mistwalker has been pretty much mobile-only for the last few years. It would be nice if they could team up with either Microsoft or Nintendo again to make another console RPG.

LO was my favorite 7th gen game, and one of my favorite games of all time (top 10), even got all the achievements, but I don't think we'll get a sequel. I do hope Mistwalker returns to consoles in some shape or form.
And don't worry, I teared up too. Especially during this scene

Damn.. last month it was Shika no lifing achievements, now it's Reece.
About 6k away from passing me too :(
Could be Halo I guess
Edit: Just bought Never Alone too.. I swear if that is free with GWG next month, I'm buying a plane ticket to England and kicking Ryuu's ass

Sakaguchi doesnt like sony because they were a part of the reason for his departure so if he comes back to consoles it will be on WiiU or Xbox for sure. As for that ship has sailed not necessarily. He said at the time there was nothing planned, just ideas. And it takes years to develop a game. If Phil Spencer or somebody at Xbox goes and talks to Mistwalker im sure they could get another xbox game. And im sure the same could be said about nintendo. Somebody just needs to fund them
