Not kosher to put out a 20 minute demo of this game. Its like six hours long.

I really, really hope this game does well. It's exactly what I've been asking from Ninty for years.

It's called marketing and advertising. It's amazing what it can do for your product.
If only Nintendo knew what this was, then maybe their games that don't have the name of a major mascot in the title wouldn't sell so bad.
Minecraft for example is frickin huge on 360 because M$ advertised the hell out of it, and even my little cousins who normally stick to the Wii stuff and whose parents got them a 360 over Christmas strictly for Skylanders now enjoy this game because they actually saw and heard things about it.
Imagine that.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I think it's gorgeous. Many people who downplay the visuals in this game are simply not taking in to account how smooth it runs. This trailer directly from Platinum's site is at a full 60fps and really shows how the game actually runs compared to any of the Youtube vids I've seen: http://platinumgames.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/wiiu_wonderful101_trailer_012213s.mov |
Great video! I seriously think it's one of the best-looking games I've seen. The characters look like something by pixar - even in-game - the environments are huge and detailed with lots going on, there are lots of characters on screen, everything just has a great polish with great lighting.
I'm not trying to start a fanboy war here, but it looks like everything that Knack was advertised to be - and then some.

What? The director of the game was like if you dont like short games dont play this. This game is completely about the experience however short. Given the brief duration of the game, I must say its twenty minutes is more than a teaser. Thats a pretty good chunk of gameplay.

Yes, but nowhere did he say it was only six hours long:
"If u hate to finish a game the next day u buy it, u better not play TW101," he wrote. "I focus on how it is fun, not how long it lasts till the ending."
This statement was soon clarified by Platinum Games executive director Atsushi Inaba who emphasized Kamiya was referring to his approach to design, adding that the Wii U title will not be packed with filler content as a result.
