Replacements?  new buyers?  most are replacements.  all they need to do is eat away at that.

by your logic every manufactuirer is irrelevant other than Samsung and Apple and that cant change.

thats bollocks.

97 out of every 100 people have spoken with their wallets on this matter.

Windows phones are nearly obsolete.

"Other phone sales drop by 27% to 53.7m units." ...
Is that US only ?

Cause I'm getting a slightly different picture from Gartner: http://www.gartner.com/newsroom/id/2482816

That is Qtr1.

Its now Qtr 2

According to Gartner:
Worldwide Smartphone Sales to End Users by Vendor in 1Q13 (Thousands of Units)  Total 210m units

If Q2 only sold 53.7m units worldwide, that would be a drop of almost 75%, not 27%

So that's why I asked.

Sweet. I am liking my 920 quite a bit. Also Nokia 520 is a great budget phone. High end Android phones are good but cheaper ones are simply quite bad. So something good for low end market.

Just because they were late to the party, and aren't very popular yet, doesn't make them obsolete.

Don't know if you've ever used one, but they're pretty damn good.

comment please.

If they are below 5% market share and showing no signs of increase, then I totally agree with the edit.

the 53.7m is Nokia phones that arent smartphone sales globally sold for qtr2

nokia sold 53.7m phones that arent smartphones.  this is not all manufacturers.

Ah ok ... so you mean Other "Nokia" phone sales drop by 27% to 53.7m units ?

Lol, it's just honest conversation, if somebody isn't bullish on nokia, then that is fine.

Nokia is not doing well lately, 27% drop is pretty nasty. 3 more years like that and it's all over.

7 million world wide?

I don't know, I expected more with Nokia having at least some presence in the US now.

The Good = More consumers have Windows Phones now.
The Bad = Actual net sales are down by quite a bit.

I'm glad WP8 isn't dead. The market needs an alternative to Android and iOS as they are so similar.
