No duh, but I just hope Nintendo takes the time to promote this title like it deserves rather then bury it.
I know Bayonetta 2 is getting my support, I just hope other do the same.

Is that 100% sure? No variable part of the revenue for PG in both projects? |
Well, maybe Platinum will make more if the game does better? But i imagine there's a floor for compensation such that Platinum won't lose money, unless they end up doing something to go radically over budget or something.
As for your other reply, if Bayonetta 2 ends up making *Nintendo* money, they might commission a sequel. While their first eye is (as it should be) on moving hardware, there's nothing that says they don't want to make profitable games too. If Bayonetta 2 successfully creates a market for a third, Nintendo would be foolish to not go for it.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
I think the game will sell very well if its coming late 2014. By then the Wii U instalbase would be huge.

Absolutely not. Nintendo is funding Bayonetta 2 so that Bayonetta fans buys a WiiU. Once the targeted audience is equipped with a WiiU Nintendo has no more reason to fund a sequel. Bayonetta 3 would thus need to be published by a 3rd party which would make it multi-platform. EDIT : beaten. |
you Sony fanboys are still butthurt about B2 not coming to PS4? XD
Moderated - Kresnik.
I haven't played the first one yet, I hope that it will be a success though.

Huh? If the game succeeds Nintendo has every reason to fund Bayonetta 3 on WiiU.
| OneHappyGamer:) said: Well I really don't see this happening. Bayonetta 2 is obviously going to be a flop on Wii U, as it barely passed 1 million units on PS3, and didn't even do that on 360 which had an even larger install base at the time. and then we have the Wii U, a struggling console, and proportionaly to the PS3/360 install base it probably has an even smaller amount of core gamers, considering its a Nintendo console. I see Bayonetta 2 doing 500k but never reaching 1 million Lifetime sales :/ its sad really, its probably going to be an awesome game too. |
Thats the thing though. How many copies does it need to sell to make the game successful or profitable?
I don't think it matters. If Bayonetta 2 isn't successful Nintendo might bankroll a sequel none the less.
I'm sad that Bayonetta isn't on the PS4, but I wish Platinum Games the best of luck with this game, the first one was a masterpiece.
I hope the Nintendo go mad with the marketing so it does sell 2 mil or however many copies means success these days, and hopefully even if we never see it, the Nintendo fans get a sequel. If anyone deserves it, its Platinum Games!
i would find if funny if nintendo funds bayonetta 3 even if bayonetta 2 sells like 700K
