Well, maybe Platinum will make more if the game does better? But i imagine there's a floor for compensation such that Platinum won't lose money, unless they end up doing something to go radically over budget or something.
As for your other reply, if Bayonetta 2 ends up making *Nintendo* money, they might commission a sequel. While their first eye is (as it should be) on moving hardware, there's nothing that says they don't want to make profitable games too. If Bayonetta 2 successfully creates a market for a third, Nintendo would be foolish to not go for it.
