If it was coming to the Wii U, yes, Nintendo fans would happily tout that another third-party title was coming to the console.

With it not coming to the console, their response is that it makes sense and isn't exactly the biggest release, anyway, just being SF4 again.

If it was coming to Wii U, "other people" would belittle its importance with the same reasoning Nintendo fans are now using to brush off its absence.

The difference is that a glass-half-full perspective is completely harmless and always preferable, while the glass-half-empty perspective of "another major third party is abandoning the Wii U" is just obnoxious. And claims like 'the only reason Capcom supported the Wii U at all is because Nintendo paid them to do so' don't help.

Like Nintendo has the money to throw around buying multiplatform games like Resident Evil: Revelations and Duck Tales Remastered. Please.

we still have smash brothers coming :p

shame its not coming for the wiiu only users ... gonna get it for the ps3 then ...
also my stick doesnt work on the wiiu ... only ps360 moded so i doubt that i would have bought it on the wiiu anyways.

and with its current userbase and even less userbase who would play sf4 anyways the online wouldnt be so great (non us)

What?  Tekken isn't more popular than Street Fighter.  Tekken Tag Tournament 2 also sold less than a million copies on the PS360 and Wii U combined.

Tekken is actually the better selling franchise, look it up. and i dont know what TT2 PS360 sales have to do with WIi us

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 PS360 sales are to prove a point.  It's the latest and best iteration of the Tekken franchise.  It's can be played either single versus, tag versus, or single versus tag, and includes almost every character in the Tekken franchise.  Why then didn't it sell if Tekken was so much more more popular?  It's not like Tekken was milked like Street Fighter 4, this was a brand new game and the first TTT game released in a long time, a fan favorite of those who liked the series.

Also, what does Tekken selling more in the past have to do with it being more popular now?  It was a pretty popular series back then.  They didn't add a lot of  the mechanics that they've added to the later games.  Tekken 4 is more similar to the earlier games games but it's where they started adding more advanced features, but play Tekken 4 and Tekken 6 and you're pretty much playing a completely different game.  Tekken Tag Tournament 2 keeps everything that Tekken 6 has and just adds onto it with the tag system and almost every single Tekken character.
