Forums - Nintendo - Ultra Street Fighter 4 will not be on the Wii U

It seems that there´s a lot of misunderstanding here.

Isn´t Ultra Street Fighter IV dlc content ? For the suggested price, we can be sure that it´s not a complete game. It´s more or like what Nintendo did with Super Luigi U, and add-on to a already launched game.

If this is true, then there´s no real motive for so much fuzz. SFIV was only launched with dlc support for Xbox360, PS3 and PC. There´s the 3DS (more than 1 million pieces sold, by the way) but it doesn´t support dlc.

Now, it seems that Capcom is planning to release another version of this game in a complete package. It doesn´t make much commercial sense to launch it, but still it will be only for the original platforms. No PS4 and Xbox1 included, so.... anyone would suppose it wouldn´t be on WiiU also, after all, we can say that it´s an old game now.

Considering the efforts Capcom did with Resident Evil Revelations, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and the upcoming exclusive (and BIG) Monster Hunter 4, as well as the all the classic Mega Man games lauched on Eshop, we hardly have reasons to argue about Capcom´s support to the WiiU

No misunderstanding here.

USFVI is a DLC content for SSFIV users and a Retail Full game to new owners... and it is cheaper.

USF4 is like SSF4AE.  If you own SSF4, there's a $15 DLC to add the AE characters and another $15 to add the Ultra characters.  If you own SSF4AE on disc, then it's $15 to add the USF4 characters.  You can also buy a disc version of USF4 the day the DLC releases which includes all characters.

You mean the exclusives Nintendo paid for?  It can't really be counted as them being nice enough to support the consoles when Nintendo paid for those games to come to their consoles.  And why are you saying ports of the classic games as support?  They're porting old games at ridiculous prices.  $6 for an NES game?  Damn straight Capcom is going to port the game.  I also see no reason for them not to support the 3DS.  There's already 30 million systems sold.

Did Sony or Microsoft have to moneyhat USF4 for thteir consoles?  What about Remember Me which was an new IP only for the PS360?  Lost Planet 3?  DmC Devil May Cry?  E.X. Troopers was on the PS3 and 3DS, support for two systems that the game would sell well on.  See.  This is what you call support.

its not a generalisation, which is why i used the word "some"

I meant, i dont know if what you're saying is true. You are saying it is.

You also said the word "your" like they are somehow a group i belong to just because i didnt blindly hate on the Wii U.

Fact here is: The game doesnt have a planned version for Wii U/Ps4 and Xbox one. Yet the thread only mentions the Wii U. Therefore i classify it as a hate thread especially aimed at the Wii U.

Who started the thread is irrelevant.

See.  It's not just EA.  Every company is doing it.  It's the cool thing to do.

Oh my heaven! IS THIS FOR REAL!?

I! Who have been following the Wii U! And NINTENDO Products in general! DID! NOT! KNOW! THIS! INFORMATION!!

But seriously, I'm more disapointed that Ultra SF4 isn't getting the retail or DLC treatment for the 3DS then Capcom not investing resources into developing a Wii U version.

I'm more interested to see if the Wii U will get the next console RE game.

LOL...Why U so mad?  Anyways there IS no proof Nintendo payed for those exclusives(I am sure they did but no proof) so let's not assume anything.  It's not like MS or Sony haven't money hatted anyone in the past!!! In fact, I think one of those guys started that trend!

Outside of paying for all or part of the development costs when they make a publishing contract, we know Sony doesn't pay for exclusives so it wasn't Sony that started the trend.  *looks over at Microsoft.*

If this was coming to WiiU everyone would be making threads about it, when its not coming to WiiU people act like they don't care :/ doesn't add up....

The fact is Yoshinori Ono, the Street Fighter head honcho at Capcom, is reportedly saying that the reason there is no next generation development is that they don't have the budget to move the game onto ANY of the next generation systems.

Basically, Ultra is one last cash grab by Capcom because they know the Street Fighter fandom is too loyal and the tournament die hards are too frantic to pass it up what with the new characters and tweaks.

i beg to differ, the people who are STILL playing fighting games are the ones who are hardcore. SF2 sold very well for SNES, thats great but that was also the time when the series and genre as a whole was at its peak. it went down quickly after that as we can see in subsequent, SF releases on the same system. Most of the people still playing these games are fans of the genre in general as the casual appeal died down years ago. Tekken Tag 2 released on Wii U and that didnt sell so hot, and thats even more popular so i dont see why USF4 would do better.

Im not understanding what the 2nd paragraph means, that just shows me that their is a much bigger fighting audience on non ninty platforms.

What?  Tekken isn't more popular than Street Fighter.  Tekken Tag Tournament 2 also sold less than a million copies on the PS360 and Wii U combined.

Tekken is actually the better selling franchise, look it up. and i dont know what TT2 PS360 sales have to do with WIi us
