PlayStation dominated a decent month for UK games retail in June.

PS3 was the best selling console, The Last of Us the No.1 game, while Sony was the most successful publisher.

For the first time in years, more PS3 titles were sold last month than on any other platform. PS3 had a software market share (by value) of over 40 per cent, says GfK Chart-Track.

The success is largely down to Sony’s hugely successful new IP, The Last of Us. The game comfortably beat Animal Crossing: New Leaf to top the monthly charts. Grid 2 was the best-selling Xbox 360 game.

It was a decent month for games sales, overall. 1.85m units were sold, which is down 13.2 per cent over June 2012, but up 46 per cent over May 2013. In total stores took £44.5m from software alone.

The Return of The King in UK... it is time to show who dominates the console world again ... first UK, US after.

Sony should really target the uk in the next generation, it will be much easier to convince them then it would be with america

Sony is still relesing big games in PS3... MS not in 360... so I think it is not just momentum.

GT6 will assure the top to the PS3 later this year in UK too.

Except it would be a very normal thing if the 360 was on top. Make a thread when the 360 tops the PS3 in a place where the PS3 dominates.

Looking at the numbers here, we don't have a single week where PS3 sold more than Xbox 360 or 3DS in the UK for the whole of June. So yeah, looks like there's some undertracking or overtracking going on.

They've launched in UK already? :p These numbers are all due to The Last of Us.
