The game is not a F2P game. It will be offered in a full price digital download or individual characters may be purchased if you so desire. I'm assuming you won't be playing Planetside 2, Warframe, DC Universe Online, or Blacklight Retribution on PS4?

This game will have a high attach ratio for the Xbox One. I know plenty of people buying the X1 just for this game. Evo is full of Capcom fanboys who boo anything non Capcom.

They didn't seem to mind Persona 4 Arena or the others.

I was gonna say that lol. I watched the Persona 4 Arena finals yesterday and it was pretty hype towards the end, even though the final match was pretty one sided. Yume pwned, plain and simple.

Anyway, I remember watching the King of Fighters finals last year and the crowd was going crazy. One of the best matches I have personally ever seen. That isn't made by Capcom either. I look forward to this year's match as well.

I think KI wouldn't be booed so bad if it was being released by Nintendo and being developed by Rare. It's just the fact that it's being released on Xbone and has been given to a developer who doesn't have the best of track records, especially when Rare is sitting RIGHT THERE is what's getting all the negative responses. Either way I hope this turns out to be a good game though. Nothing like seeing a classic franchise rise up from the ashes.

I am not surprised. The fighting community is strong where I live, and my peers are in agreement with me on this one. This game does not look impressive, at all. I'm going to give them time since a lot can change between now and release, but so far it is far from inspiring. It just looks dull and boring. Hopefully it turns around. I really enjoyed KI before.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

No one is excited for a free to play game

Really? I see people excited for free to play games on here all the time.

that comes with one character and you have to buy everyone else seperately.

Or, you can buy the entire game at launch with all the content. Maybe in the future before making threads to troll games, you check out the games to make sure you know what you're talking about? I'm trying to help you here.

Not to mention this game isn't even developed by Rare. How can you get excited for this lol.

No offence to anyone who is actually excited...

I have a feeling that if this game were made by Rare, you'd just crap on the game for that reason anyway.

1) Free to play games are nice but nothing to get excited about (in my opinion). They're fun to play for a while but get rather boring once you have to constantly purchase in game items. I'd rather just pay once and have access to the full game.

2)How much will that cost you? If it's 60$ or under for ALL content in the game then I'll admit I was wrong on this one.

3) Why would I crap on a game that is being made by it's original developer

Need we remind you that Rare, the original developer of classics like Banjo and Perfect Dark, gave us such "gems" as PD Zero and Banjo Nuts and Bolts this past gen.

The fact that KI is no longer in their hands is a good thing IMO.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

"Willette says players will be able to purchase and download the game in three ways. First, they can download the base — which includes Jago, online play, a training mode and the basics — for free, then choose to purchase other characters and features piecemeal. Second, they can purchase the equivalent of a season pass and pay up-front to get all the characters and content for the game as they are released. Or third, they can pay for a special edition of the season pass that also includes bonus content."

Also in regards to developers, Double Helix was sending builds of the game to the developers at RARE who had a hand in making the origional Killer Instinct for input and ideas, there are only a few of them remaining at RARE however.

what exactly is a season pass? sounds like NBA whenre you buy for a year and need to pay more again next year.

It's where you pay a small fee for the game to get all DLC that has and will ever be released and such.
Battlefield 3 did something similar and it usually works out cheaper than buying all the DLC seperate.

EVO 2013 has always been pro Sony ; )

So far the game looks like a fun update to the series in the same way the new MK game was. It's not setting out to revolutionize the fighting genre or anything, just giving old-school and new-school gamers a fun beatem up to enjoy, which is what I loved the most about the original KI... the fact that its combo system and gameplay were so over the top and that it didn't take itself too seriously.

Fighting game fans take themselves way too seriously anyways IMO. If a game like Mortal Kombat was released today with the exact controls and gameplay of the original they'd probably vilify it.

1) Your opinion is irrelevant when you are implying no one is excited for them. KI can be free to play or not free to play. Either option will excite a lot of people.

2) They haven't said how much the full game or the special edition of the game will cost. But price is irrelevant. The crux of your issue is free to play. There are 2 options that are not free to play.

3) Rare in the 90's is not Rare today. But I am simply saying you're fishing for issues to have with the game.

looks at list of systems used at EVO, PS3 & GCN... wonder if KI can break into the competitive scene

They said they want to keep adding content over time but they haven't clarified exactly how seasons will work.
