fair enough, worth pointing too that Steam is not the only avenue to sell games on PC. Minecraft for example 11.3m copies sold directly 100% revenue (minus tax and paypal fees etc) direct to the developer.

Yehh that's amazing, I wonder how much profit that is in total. Condisdering a huge amount of ppl bought the game in beta

OT: what are wireless devices?

Around the Network

And this is why those flawed analyst ratings of the videogame industry are so flawed. They say every single time "does not include pc sales". Of course they wouldn't. That would compromise their flawed obersvations.

The study brings some quite surprising results. While consoles get the lion’s share with 68%, PCs most definitely aren’t far behind, with 63% of the polled households. Smartphones are beaten by quite a large margin with 43%, and gaming handhelds appear “only” in the 37% of households.

Yeah... I don't think this is accurate.

Everyone in the world is playing animal crossing right now, what are you talking about?

That's my point, actually; handhelds typically sell a lot more than consoles yet are in less households?

The BuShA owns all!

The USA was always console land

Really appreciate the infographics you're bringing to this thread. Number of users is less important than how much revenue is up for grabs, IMO. Interesting to see that handheld consoles are the only category which is actually shrinking in these estimates.

I can't help but expect that PC gaming revenue will decline as PC sales keep declining, though.

I think that must mean tablets and iPods.
