I think I locked myself out of some sub events T_T

Some Sub Events are still time based... and can actually be missed or considered incomplete.

I'm trying not to miss any of them, admittedly I put some off and then the kidknapping happens so I hope the ones I have aren't time based since they require one the members that left.

Actually I hate to tell you this, but certain sub quest.... aren't even subquests....they are literally talking to someone about current mission or plot, and well are reallly really stupid...but they count as one subquest. Without a subquest guide, you can miss those easily.  I know this because my second playthrough I looked up the subquests. Some require specific actions taken at specific times. I wouldn't get discouraged from them, since really they do little to the story or items...

Like the one I missed was talking about the events you mentioned. It was just conversation between two village people.

While I really really like Xillia, I'm now 25-30 hours through and I don't think it's as good as Graces F. I think almost every aspect of graces F is better from the characters, battle system to the music being better and more memoriable. I also think that they should get rid of the 360 degree view control and go back to the fixed dynamic view as they seemed to put more detail into the environments with that.

Nethertheless it is a great game and ill be picking up xillia 2 when that comes out.

I have a problem with non linked battle members just standing around. I've fiddled with the ai. I've heard this was a fixed in xillia 2. While it is a great game, there are a few characters that just irritate me, more than the normal jrpg characters that are annoying (Ivan, teepo). I'm 25 hours in... I'd rate it similarly to valkyria chronicles, xenoblade, and xiii-2' which are my favorite hd twins jrpgs aside from the souls series. They all have a lot of strengths and a few irritating weaknesses. (8.5)

I differ in that I like the characters a lot more than the 10 hours I've played in graces concurrently, as well as music. The graphics have are a bit bland in a lot of places. The battle system in graces seemed more fluid. This still has a great battle system, and I think I prefer it, bUt some I think the reviews for this game were fair, I'd give it a bit higher than the meta.

I also like Jude a lot, but I think there is a bit too much focus on him like Vaan in ff12 (he is a better character than Vaan IMO), but he's not really more interesting then rowen, Alvin, milla, but gets the screen time as milla. but I think a lot of people disagree with me.

Lol. I quite like Ivan. I don't take him seriously, I just see him as comic relief and in my view he works really well in that role as long as you don't take him too seriously.

Admit I'm not a huge fan of Teepo, although Elize is lovely. Its nice to have an endearing character like that who dosen't annoy you (like say Vanille).

Its true the graphics are outdated, however it seems because the game is utilising less power for perfomance in certain areas, loading is extremely fast. However I would have liked to have seen FF13 quality visuals for the environments.

I also think Jude is a bit bland, but he's acceptable in that role, and the game to me feels more like an ensemble cast rather than just focusing on one particular character. The female characters are written very well, unlike other JRPGs that come to mind, so I really can't fault the game in that department.

Has one come across the first enemy that had a 'demon weapon' lodged in it? I came up against it and got beaten quite badly.

I found one in (Chapter 4 spoilers) Elympios, took it down no problem. Another one I found about 25 hours in, can't remember where, absolutely destroyed me though.

got a question, does anybody know whether your party members cast there mystic artes on there selves when in overdrive? or do you have to switch to them and do it yourself to see there mystic artes?
Its just in Graces F they would do it thereselves if you hadnt used yours in a certain amount of time.

Not sure, I finished the game (both sides) during the 1st week of this month ^^

im still playing. lv50 on first play through.

I just beat it. All in all I'd say it was a pretty average game. I guess people hyped it up a lot because it is a JRPG, which are rare in the West nowadays. Not so sure if I'll buy Xillia 2 anymore though...
