If I remember doesn't Vesperia look better than this graphically? Also there seems to be a lack of minigames, this bugged me about the original FFXIII and Xenoblade, and currenlty might bug me here. It helps with pacing I think.

Vesperia has the best graphics of any Tales game to me the art style they chose was really cool to me.

Im about 7 or so hours in and the game isnt really giving me alot reasons to like it so far... The characters are paperthin, the voiceacting go from decent to horrible with tons of awkward pauses and weird gestures. Cant really comment on the story yet though its pretty standard, nothing wrong about that aslong as the characters are likeable.. maybe they'll grow on me or maybe the story will take some unexpected turns.

The barren enviorments are a bit off-putting and pretty boring to explore but i still run around searching for them chests and sparkly things. I really like the addicting combat, leveling system and store upgrades so its doing something right.. Just not what i expected since so many said it was alot better than Graces

Barren???

Yeah some mini games would help. i was actually expecting one when you got to hamil and found out about them secret treasure chests scattered across the land, i thought youd have to solve a little puzzle to open them, i was wrong :)

I thought the exact same thing! That would've made the sidequest a lot more interesting.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

It may have had a better art style (it did),  but Xillia is technically better looking.

looking at pictures, I have to agree that xillia looks a lot better in my opinion.

Not that it really matters to me but why does this game not do 1080p/1080i? I find it a bit odd

A lot of PS3 games don't. They'd rather just leave it at, or close to, the native resolution and let your TV do the scaling. I forgot why, but apparently the PS3 takes a much bigger performance hit when upscaling to 1080p than the 360.

Yea I agree xillia looks a bit star oceany to me actually. vesperias graphics just look better to me.

I think the only reason why Xillia looks a little bland/barren is because we've been spoiled by Ni No Kuni :p

So umm, to the people who bought this, how is it? I'm itching for a JRPG. I have not tried one this entire gen, but I was intrigued by a few trailers. How is it? What are the strong points? I might acquire it this month. Thanks!

Well then, you've missed out on quite a bit.

Most people have had positive thoughts. Very enjoyable.

Strong Points are for sure gameplay and music.

Weak points are story and pacing.

That fits just about every Tales game though. It's definitely one of the better entries in the series.
