MK8 is in Sping ya foo! But yeah I also think that's when Smash n Zelda will release. Smash in Summer, Zelda in Fall/Holidays. I think they'd go with MK8 for the price cut though, since it has a bigger audience and the Wii U could use a price cut sooner rather than later.

I still consider it a major factor to push forth sales and interest in the game you woman :O

The Wii-U will have some advantages in terms of software when the PS4/Xbox One will be halfway across its first year.

-New Super Mario Bros U
-The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD
-Mario Kart 8
-Pikmin 3
-Super Mario 3D World
-Sonic Lost World

And whatever else is announced around Spring/Summer 2014.

lol, is that supposed to be an insult?

And yeah, that one year headstart wasn't a total bust, as it should allow for the Wii U to get rolling while the PS4/XO might still need to find their bearings. They'll also be able to gloat about their console being in first place for some time, if PS360 is any indication (cause we're not likely to have a Wii this gen).

Agree, April to coincide with Mario Kart 8.

Basic-$199, either discontinued or kept around as a cheap alternative to compete with PS360

Deluxe Mario Kart 8 bundle-$299, $100-200 cheaper than PS4/One and comes with a high profile game, should do very well against them.

iirc, then that'd also make it a great value against PS360.

I figure PS360 will have price cuts around the same time

4gb 360 w/Kinect-$199

250gb 360 w/Halo 4-$199

PS3 w/Gran Turismo 6-$199

So having a $199 Wii U would be nice

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

November relaunch or probably when MK8 comes out

This sounds about right.

Like we had all discussed in the last thread, if they are going to drop it by a significant amount ($80-$100) April is perfect because of the release of Mario Kart 8 and the fact that their 2013 fiscal year earnings report would be safe from any losses.

Price cuts dont typically happen during the holidays

It's possible if the sales momentum is too low.

It is possible but not likely. If sales momentum is low its best to do a cut a few months before the holidays to build up momentum leading up to them. Springing a price cut in Dec likely wont help sales alot since there will already be pretty of retailer price drops for the holiday and most people already knoe what they are gonna buy by then.

not this year i'm afraid, Nintendo is too stubborn and proud to do it

I think Oct/Nov also qualify has "holiday" and price cuts then are very possible if they notice not nearly as many people are buying as they want (large stocks) and a price cut may be what they need to give the system the momentum it needs.  Not saying it's likely, but it's a possibility.
