No more sections! Rainbow Road in MK7 wasn't very enjoyable as the past ones because of trying out the whole "sections" thing with it. I get that it's a very large course, but 1 entire lap was definitely not enough, 2 would have been better.

Just be rid of the "sections" courses, only laps please!

Agreed. Rainbow Road was way too short with just one lap.

OT: They are pretty much equal, but I'll choose laps since sections makes longer maps last shorter. (And I'd love longer lasting races once in a while :(

I'm positive that they're not shorter. I'ma go into MK7 and look at their time trial times.

Yes, they are. They are one third as long as they would have been if they made it two more laps, which would be possible since the third section is always connected to the first in Mario Kart 7.

I couldn't just take your word for it so I looked anyway, and it turns out you're right. It's weird as those tracks always felt longer to me. However, that's just MK7. They could easily make the sections longer in MK8. It's not like there's a rule as to how long the section based tracks, or any track for that matter, have to be. There are plenty of lap based tracks shorter than the section based ones in MK7 afterall. Oh, and giving those tracks 3 laps would defeat their purpose and make them really long, like nearly 5 minutes.

Defeating that purpose is precisely what I want.

This becomes more true if fake item boxes make a return like I'm thinking they will based on the trailer.

As with Bananas and dropped items. I'm hoping that a track like the Baby Park (That sounds extremely odd, but I do think that's what it's called...) one in Mario Kart: Double Dash. I enjoyed the build up of the items. It was mayhem!

Are you saying there are other items that can be dropped and will stay there for a period of time, cause I don't remember any other than bananas and FIBs.

Btw I'm still waiting for you to answer me question in the MK8 thread. If you don't soon then I'll make individual threads on the topics I brought up.

I didn't see the question as my MK8 thread slipped out of my VGC Buddy. Sorry.

I'm talking about dropped stars and mushrooms. What are FIB's?

No probs! FIB = fake item box, and I see what you mean now, though that requires lightning bolt while someone has Lucky 7/Shells/Banana, or the course having destructible objects containing items, but meh. Do you mind having a few section based tracks, or would you perfer all of them to be lap based?

I would like to see Section based tracks in every MK game moving forward, but only a small amount. I don't want them to turn into the new Laps tracks, that would be a bad thing.

I also edited my Official MK8 Thread. Go check it out!

Laps, because it adds congestion to the road and makes ground items more meaningful.

Maybe I was just mad at the Wuhu courses, but it left me unimpressed. The Rainbow Road only disappointed me because it wasn't longer or more tricky.
