Forums - Microsoft - Rumor - Microsoft may increase RAM to 12 GB and GPU clock increase to Xbox One

GPU clocks OK, sounds manageable. RAM amount increases sounds dangerously dangerous.

Hard to imagine games taking advantage of that much RAM.

Developers have done amazing things with a measly 512MB.

If the rumor turns out to be true, the extra 4G ram and upclocking GPU would make Xbox One more appealing.

What does a mermaid wear to math class?

An algae bra.

Calling bullshit, I mean it's coming from an unproven source so I don't know why this thread is blowing up like it has, and I seriously doubt Microsoft will be making changes only four months before launch, when the console should be already under production or merely weeks from it.

However if this was SOMEHOW true, it'd be a gamble on their part. Overclocking a GPU can cause heat issues and for them to burn out quicker, all for a 15% - 30% percent performance increase. On the bright side the GPU power difference between it and the PS4 would be more or less at around 20% - 30% rather than 50% and the RAM advantage would probably go towards graphical capabilities as well, so like 9GB vs 7GB for games would pretty much close the visual difference between the two.

But once again, I seriously doubt this.

Ah microsoft, if this is true... They really have no idea what kind of console they want to make. If they do this they should change the name to the schizophrenic xbox...

Asking developers 4 months before launch? Very bogus but who knows anything can happen.

why does the article say they are covered in tape to hide the shape. Wouldn't tape only hide color and texture? its shape would still be the same only covered in a thin layer of tape? that confuses me

edit: i realize the xebra pattern is to hide curves, but the XB1 doesnt have any curves, its a box..

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

Not buying it.

lol Yeah....no, not happening 4 months before launch when they are having production problems as is. And still with 12 gb of ram, this is MS here we are talking about. Which means if the remote off chance this is true, expect a $549.99 or $599.99 price to go along with it.

gonna file this under false...it makes abbsolutely no sense for MS ti still be tinkering with their console with only 4 months left unless their planning to push back the realease date and probably increasing the cost; at this stage of the game they should be in full software and advertising mode
