Sorry if this is a somewhat dumb question but in a few mouths i will be faced with the decision to ether get a Nintendo 3DS XL or a PS3 (used). First, since the ps3 is used lets just say there both priced at the same. (I wont go into detail)


So yes, both have amazing exclusives and are also completely different experiences but i was wondering what would you guys recommend.

If your wondering 'why not just get both'. See the problem is im just a teenager,so i do exactly have one of your fancy 'full time, minimum wage jobs' So both isnt really the best option for me right now.

The modern consoles that I have right now is the WiiU and Xbox 360. And my plans for 'next gen' is a Mid-Range Gaming PC.

Also what games would you recommend for it?

If you are a Nintendo fan, the 3DS should have you fully covered. One of my favorite systems ever and it still has a long way to go.

Hmm tough call, they both have some great exclusives, obivously the PS3 has more, but the 3DS has a longer life ahead of it.  I would say PS3 because you can get so many of the games for dirt cheap now, and it has so many good exclusives, I'm talking dozens.  I would get a 3DS down the road too though, the next chance you can afford it.  Also if money is tight, I'd get the regular 3DS insead of the XL, imo it doesn't make much of a difference.

Well PS3= HUGE LIBRARY

3DS= Pokemon X/Y, LoZ ALBW, M+L RPG, And many more!

Sega Saturn, and get Nights into Dreams, Panzer Dragoon, and Radiant Silvergun. ;)

You already know what you want I'm guessing :)

depends on what games you like. Seeing as you own a WiiU you already have some similar expiriences to a 3DS (Suoer Mario 3D Land > Suoer Mario 3D World, MK7>MK8, DKCR:3D > DKC:TF etc.) but there is plenty of unique experiences like Luigi's Mansion, Kid Icarus, Pokemon, Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing etc.
Seeing as you have a 360 unless you really want to play Sony's 1st Party offerings or some niche JRPGs theres no reason to really buy a PS3 now

Because you have a 360, I would probably recommend going with the 3DS. About 90% of the libraries for the XBox 360 and PS3 are the same, so owning the two is a bit redundant, unless you happen to be a big fan of Sony exclusives.

Judging by your sig and avatar I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you're a bigger fan of Nintendo games than Sony games. Plus, being a portable, the 3DS will fill a niche that the PS3 won't. Unless there is some detail I'm missing, this seems like a pretty easy choice.

I bought a PS3 and a Wii U recently and am questioning both decisions. I still have a lot of exclusives to try on the PS3 though. Starting to think I should've got a 3DS instead.
