I think the logo has been stylized a bit to look more like a 4, but that also could be cognitive dissonance since SSBU is the fourth SSB.

Well if it was true, it wouldn't make much sense as it's not very obvious and it's in the middle of a word. Super Smash Br4s. ...yeah.
