After this years E3 especialy MGS5 cought my eye and Ubisoft..mostly Ubisofts AAA games are open world and with the horse power the next consoles offer this seems very obvious. So I think Open world is the right direction to go next gen.

what do you think is open world the future ?

Of course it is, look at the Witcher 3. That game is going to be massive compared to the previous game with smarter Ai. These are things people generally wait for the next gen for. Innovation has to take place in the gameplay now that the next gen consoles power has given access to newer tools.

I hope not. I like open world games but I also like platformers, and I already feel like there are too many platformers coming to the Wii U. Too much of a good thing is never great. Variety is the spice of life.

I dunno, open world gives you true access to the world around you. Next gen always tends to mean lesser restriction compared to the gen before, so it helps.

I say hell yeah. Open world games are amazing, and I think that as tech progresses, they are only going to get better. I do think that more scripted games still have a place, but I think choice is key. (Dishonored is a game that has a really good balance of choice and linear aspects.)

For the sake of the industry I hope not. Not because I don't like open world games, but because this type of games are known to be expensive to make.

I agree; I like the occasional Grand Theft Auto, but it would do the industry a lot of good to work with smaller budgets- not every game needs to be a blockbuster title.

I like open wold games. But time to time linear games are welcome. Too much of same thing is never good.

i personally hope not. I'm not a fan of open world as they take way to much time i don't have.

something i predicted a while ago at ps4 spec release is that we are going to see the end of load times. open world is jist a natural progression of that fact. notice that even all the open world games say there won't be loading times.

Unfortunately it looks like it. I'm definitely not the biggest fan of open world games, so I was very happy to hear that The Order 1886 will be linear and story driven

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!
