Forums - Microsoft - Where is Illumiroom?

We need more internet rage and petitions to convince Microsoft to bundle it with every Xbox One!

Do it now people!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Once Xbox One hits $299, Illumiroom will be bundled. Just like Kinect this gen. The projector itself will be significantly cheaper in a couple of years.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

It is not ready yet. But if the 499USD price tag includes that projector, then it will be a great value...

I can totally see it being next gen's Kinect.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

So for $300 you genuinely believe Microsoft will bundle a projector, Kinect 2.0 (which has a tof camera), and a Xbox One?

Do you have any idea how much a high quality projector capable of outputting visuals show in the tech demos run for? Do you?

Stop speaking out of your ass.

Let's assume for a moment that a $150 small 3000 lumen flexible short throw LED projector is possible in a few years. I doubt it, though there is this for example http://www.dhgate.com/product/portable-hd-home-theater-led-3d-projector/160498564.html?recinfo=8,1,4#cppd-4-1
1800 lumen 640x480 600:1 contrast for $200, questionable quality (especially with 3D: Support Red-Blue 3D Movies) Increase the brightness and you can do some low res effects.

However:

1. Setup won't work for most people. You need the right coffee table, tv not in a corner, not too bright in the room, walls not too dark, not too much clutter, no reflective surfices in the way (windows, pictures, paintings) and a power cable to the coffee table. In the demo they don't even have a coffee table setup, but an eleborate stand behind the couch.

2. It needs Kinect to calibrate. Do you include an extension cable and expect people to move the Kinect back and forth every time someone bumps against the projector? Build a second Kinect into the projector?

3. It doesn't have mass market appeal. Plus word of mouth won't do much with a cheap projector as it will in no way match the quality of the demo.

no, I don't believe this.

Ohhh... and reported for "stop speaking out of your ass"

They said it wasen't gonna be ready at launch of the xbox one. As soon as they do they will gain alot of sales and sony will probably copy them.
