Forums - Nintendo - My Super Mario 64 review

I still dont get your graphics gripe because when this game came out in 96 it was one of the best graphical games we had ever seen at that time so 15+ years later you can't take off points for something that looked fantastic in its day, any retro reviewer knows that! You have to have that retro "eye sight" as someone once told me.

Though id say your overall score is justice for this masterpiece, as for the ds remake I tend to be more harse on it for some reason.

I am sorry, but just looking at Bowser makes me feel ..... you know..... .. a bit weird.  Besides, Conker came 5 years later and blew Mario 64 away in terms of graphics.

What platform do you play it on? I play it on the PC, with 16xAA and AF the game looks absolutely clean, with popping colors. I love it *_*

I'll get lot of flak for this, but...I find it boring and controls are not so good. I enjoyed Rayman 2 on N64 order of magnitude more. Hm, this seems perfect as my entry for that "controversial gaming opinion" thread....

Meh. Rayman 2 is decent, but Rayman, Rayman origins and most likely Rayman Legends are better Rayman games.

Playing games in a crappy resolution on a far too big screen IS a loss :P

Also, ripping your own ROM's and ISO's is completely legal, as are emulators in general. Which reminds me, my PSP emulation thread needs to be updated. Axumblade seems to share my stance on emulators. Don't promote piracy and everything is fine.
