I think I'll have to say RPG, but strategy games come very close. Turn-based, RTS, I don't really care much if it's done well, although I have slightly preferred turn-based strategy games. What's the deal anyway with strategy games completely missing? It's not like it's an almost unknown genre, even though it's never been big on consoles.
RPG, it's the ultimate genre of gaming. Not the kind of RPG that is really just a shooter/action game with RPG elements, I mean real RPGs like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Dragon Quest.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
RPG's are the best imho whether they are JRPG's or WPRG's. They are the basis for the evolution of games as we know them today. Leveling systems, hit points, inventory, crafting, in depth story, decision making, conversations, etc. Very few games today omit an RPG element.

You mean JRPG's. Real RPG's are WRPG's built off of the methodology of Dungeons and Dragons.
I've had to put 'other' because the game I want hasn't been done yet.
In my ideal game you would be dropped into a wild environment and have to survive alone. You'd have to make shelter from the whether, hunt and gather food, arm yourself with makeshift weapons and battle the creatures that inhabit the world alone. When you die, you die for good and have to start again. But the experience you gain from your first playthrough gets moved across to your second playthrough.
There would be an online mode similar to Dayz but this too is effected by how well you've played the singleplayer.
The PS5 Exists.
