and all I did was point out that the market situation was much different for gamecube. ps2 was the cheapest dvd player and had a head start. now ps4 isn't introducing any media and costs 399. consider the current economy and you will see many people looking at those $299, $399 and $499 price tags and favouring the cheapest.

I'm sure many people will. But saying that It will necessarily be the favorite simply by being the cheapest is a notion that's demonstrably false, regardless of the economic situation. It's very much about value, as you just admitted. With the PS2, there was much higher perceived value, despite its higher price tag, and that's why it so handily won the generation. The same is true of the Wii, at least initially. If value wasn't the important factor and it was simply a matter of price, then we'd be talking about how many dozen times more units the Ouya will sell in comparison to the big 3.

I'm not saying it will be favourite by default just because of the lower price. I'm saying it already has an advantage on the price aspect.

"wii u is the cheapest 8th gen option and the average consumer will favour it."

That was what you said. If you only meant to say that the price will give it an advantage, fine. I was just reponding to what you actually wrote.

the average consumer WILL favour the cheapest option, and that is an advantage for wii u.

I agree with this.. and you know I love it how everyone says games and price points/cuts  sell systems(Games mainly) and yet when you tell them Wii U is going to finally get some games.. and will be the cheapest.. now their tune changes.. all of a sudden power matters.. and more memory.. when the fact is.. you can just hook up a hard drive to your Wii U and get as much memory as a PS4 most likely.. anyway.. we will see what happens when the holiday season gets here.. the Wii U actually has some games that matter..

Nintendo Wii by generations...

1. Wii

2. Wii U

3. Wii O U

Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.

Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)

Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)

Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)

haters are just enjoying their last moments of fun. once wii u shuts them up they will have to wait untill 3ds sucessor announcement to start bashing nintendo again. if you look at the devs, they're not saying anything about lack of power so it counters the haters too. they're only saying wii u needs to sell better wich means multiplatform support will probably get much better after this holiday season.

less than 1000

http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/call-of-duty-black-ops-2-goes-offline-on-nintendo-wii-u/

It was less than 1000 a week after launch. Dear god, there must be less than 100 people playing now. I wonder if you can even find games properly.

the article says you cant, which explains why we've yet to see a DLC for Wii U version. THere is more to this than how much copies are being sold. If people arent playing the game online, COD we talking here, we are less likely to see support for future installments, even if every version of it comes out, it STILL is the inferior version by virtue of not having access to DLC

That article is garbage.  Many Wii U's purchased at launch were Christmas presents.  The COD Wii U user base didn't hit it's peak until after Christmas.  One week after BLOPS launch there were barely any Wii U's in the wild.  The typical number of BLOPS2 players online now is several thousand, and it is no problem to get a match.  Matchmaking is instant.  It's no 360 scenario mind you, but it is "OK".

got a link, not that i dont believe you. but im not going to take the word of a random stranger

Much like Zero I met it would be the cheapest 8th Gen option... and as thus may go over better once it gets the games this holiday season.. than the others..

If I'm bored I'll snap a photo for you the next time I'm online.  But in the very least you should appreciate that the article is pointless, being from a week or two after launch when there were only 400k or so Wii U's in the wild, many of which were still in their box for Christmas.

i dont think the general populace is going to care whether its 7gen 8 or 100. IF we talking price, then PS360&Wii are going to play a factor. yes it could do better than PS4xb1, but what difference does that really make, if it will still get slaughtered by these old consoles, hell its getting whipped now. 360 4-1 PS3 6-1 and even dips below the WIi at some points
