But he is Snake, still.

They should allow us to change the voices to Japanese then, since I quite like Snake's Japanese voice actor

I love him. He's actually good. :p

Though Kiefer will be doing the motion capture for MGS V as well, so he'll be the definitive version this time.

This is some of the most confusing shit you will find on the internet, and I've played all of these games. 

So essentially, the Metal gear storyline has had reletively little thought put into it

There is lot of thought put into the storyline. Problem is lack of coherent thought. So it leaves a lot of good looking, over the top, dramatic gibberish. It is fun in a bizzare sort of way.
