Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One can scan QR tags to save entering codes

was this really that big of an inconvenience though?

That's cool. Not cool enough to make Kinect cool though. :p

It is if you buy a game like Forza and have a pre-order code or 2, an LCE code and a day 1 code. Such a pain in the ass to type with a controller.

Didn't Kinectimals use QR codes attached to stuffed toys to unlock them in the game when you scanned them with Kinect?

This gen PS3 guys had "swapping discs".
Next gen Xboners will have "typing codes".

i would have said that this isn't so important but since probably every freaking game will get those codes in first editions or just because you bought the game new, i would have to type probably hundreds of codes next gen so maybe more useful as i would believe.

What I actually want is that Kinect can save sound and text for multiplayer with gestures so that when I flip my finger kinect sees that and says to the other player "f*ck you" or "In your face"

some patent troll will see this and patent it right now..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Couldn't you do this with just about any camera as long as the software exists on the device?

This isn't really something that only Kinect could possibly do is it?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Another benefit of having Kinect...

Yup, if there's one problem I've always had with DLC, it's that I just can't get it fast enough.

its a useful FEATURE....

hard to understand?

It's a joke...

Get it?

It is a good feature worth having and maybe Ryse can make Kinect useful now! :)

Waiting to see Kinect 2 doing something game wise that actually works other then voice commands, which Ryse was maybe meant to be?

It might come from Thatgamecompany, who created some great stuff for the PS3.

“A while back someone was asking me what I was looking for and I said ‘I wanted to have an input device that captures the player’s facial expressions and gestures and fingers’,” he related.

“I think the Kinect 2 is finally there.”

Journey already took advantage of the tilt-sensitivity of the Dualshock, but the idea that Thatgamecompany could make an entirely motion-controlled game is quite compelling.

Well at least it's useful.
