Forums - Gaming - Did Sony make a mistake by bringing GT6, TLoU, GoW:A and Beyond to PS3, and not PS4 this year?

Should Sony have brought 2013's exclusives to PS4 instead of PS3?

Yes, PS4 needs them to compete with Xbone. 21 9.29%

Maybe, should have split ... 48 21.24%

No, it was smarter releasing them on PS3. 136 60.18%

I don't know. 9 3.98%

I want to see the results. 12 5.31%

Total:226

No, if anything they are banking on the millions of people who will be getting PS3s now and in the upcoming years at lower prices, that will play those masterpieces and then make the jump to PS4 because they will love what PlayStation offers, and PS4 will be no different.

I don't think you understand how difficult and time-consuming it is to port a game to a completely different console.

PD started the GT6 development years before the first PS4 devkit be out.

Now I will make a question for you guys...

Did you wait until late 2014 or 2015 to GT6 be released on PS4 or late 2013 for PS3?

Said that... PD already started the development of GT PS4 since last year but the game will be ready only in late 2014 or 2015.

Anybody that expect PD do create a GT from nowhere for PS4 launch is crazy... you need time to make a game like Gran Turismo because you can do the game like you want... you need to use real life data to make everything in this game... this opition (GT6 on PS4 at launch) never existed.

PS. To make a comparison... the other racing franchise is loosing features to be released at launch... PD never will do that... each game is a incremental... features are polished and new ones added.

when they said 10 year plan they fucking meant it

Yes and no. Yes because they would have got many people to buy the PS4 day 1. No because they would not have been able to sell as many with a low install base.

Umm I don't think they made a bad decision because Sony did say 30 exclusives were coming to the ps4. The ps3 still needs to be promoted because it now is profiting Sony. Where as when Sony sells the Ps4 there won't be many people who have the console at the time therefore the number of sales for exclusives wouldn't be as big as if they were sold on ps3.

GT games sells even in low install base... GT3 was launched with a less than 10 million install base and it is the best selling GT ever.

The choose for GT6 in PS3 is just development time... the GT for PS4 (already in development at almost one year) will be ready only in late 2014 or 2015... not before that.

Even if they not release GT6 for PS3... the game for PS4 won't be ready for launch or even for the first year.

I think it was a mistake for Sony to make GT6 an exclusive for PS3.

How can be that a mistake if GT for PS4 only can be release in late 2014/2015?

If you don't have GT6 for PS3 now then you don't have any GT game until 2015... and rememer that GT6 is already done because the development started in 2011 using everything already created to GT5.... GT for PS4 needs to be made from 0 (or at least ported).

Oh right. Didn't realize they had been working on it for 2 years. Still, they should have at least made a PS4 version.
