The one thing i like about OHF was that Gerard Butler is like the only action hero ever to be smart enough to go and find body armor and wear it unlike wearing a tanktop...

So looks like 25 million opening weekend for WHD. Should end around 70 Domestic. Needs huge number over seas. I'm conflicted about this movie as I like Roland, but hate Channing in serious roles. He needs to stick to comedies. So maybe if this bombs and a couple more follow he'll stay where he belongs and stop ruining action, drama, and thrillers.
I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.
I've only seen Olympus has fallen. So I can't actually vote.
But man when I was watching OHF me and my friends were really annoyed by some of the aspects of the movie.
The action part was good. But storywise... complete BS. Logicwise upper BS.
***SPOILERS***
few examples:
"Let's recall the 7th fleet and put 50million people at risk so we can save the president." - BS
"Let's all run towards the door when he is shooting a machine gun (ofcourse everybody died)" - BS
"Let's recall the assault to recap the white house when 6 of the 7 choppers are down... REALLYY?? It couldn't be more obvious that they would all get blown up at the first place, but ofcourse you only realise that after 6 choppers are down..." - Upper BS

The problem I had with it was that it all just seemed to easy. Gerard literally just breezes through everything. He never has a single close call till the very end and even that is short lived. Everything just came together too easy. I know it's a movie so I turn my mind off and try to enjoy, but I would have liked to seen a little struggle along the way ala Die Hard, cliffhanger etc.

White House down released to close to Olympus's date. Plots are to similar for people to pay to see White House Down after seeing Olympus. Also, many feel that White House Down is a tribute to Obama and that takes away half the populace whom dislike him. It's the same way many felt that Air Force One was a tribute to Bill Clinton when it released while he was in office and that caused the film to perform poorly at the box office.

Exactly, everything came together so easily.

Air Force One didn't preform poorly at the box office it was the 5th highest grossing movie of 1997 domestically with $172 million and 4th highest world wide with $315 million dollars. Also its still is Wolfgang Petersons best preforming picture since its buget was $85 million all his other movies that did better had much higher budgets.
