If we're technically going to argue fringe consoles like the Neo Geo (which would cost like $1200+ today), then you might as well include Steambox, which will probably be more powerful than the XB1/PS4 in a lot of ways, especially Steambox revisions a year from now.

On the other Hand they could achieve bankrupcy. I mean they are taking the fight to MS. And Microsoft is 17x bigger then Sony at the time and they have sooooo much money and can buy as much talent as they want. Plus the Vita is dying a horrible death. So Sony has to do something special otherwise they wont make it out of this alive.

Just because MS has unlimited resources pretty much doesn't mean anything for Xbox.  Sure they could sell the console at a $300 loss and dominate but they want that division to make money.  No matter how much money MS has they want more so they aren't going to say "let's lose a bunch on Xbox to beat our rival!" especially when it seems Xbox is not a main pillar of MS (as Kaz has made PS be for Sony).  Face it they care more about penetrating the phone and tablet market as well as maintaining their OS dominance than Xbox.  Sony has a gamer as CEO now so they are more likely to focus on gaming as a corporation and it's one of Kaz's 3 pillars.  Also MS's unlimited mounds of cash haven't helped them penetrate tablets or smartphones very well so the thought that you can just buy your way to the top is ridiculous.  Look no further than the subject of this thread, that the less powerful consoles always win, to see how trying to use straight muscle works out usually.  Also Nintendo has won more than their share of gaming gens (I'm also a big N fan despite many people just calling me a Sony fanboy and yes I know you didn't say that) and they haven't had the most resources since the SNES generation when they had Atari and SEGA as their rivals.

Yes you are right no doubt about that. I am just saying if Microsoft manages to get more 3rd party exclusives like Titanfall and PvZ Garden Warfare then this could hurt Sony a lot. I mean MS already has a great relationship with EA. Just imagine if they could get Battlefield and Madden to be exclusive then the Playstion is dead. And Microsoft has the means to pull that off. But thats just theory I don´t think this is going to happen but the possibility is given.

That's why the title is:

Well i wasnt really directing it to the op, it was for the people who assume Ps4 wil win and there are a lot of them on this site. Should have been more clear my bad.

So you're basically calling out people from other threads here, although none have shown up here or expressed such things?

What is it with you people, who have to bring up out of topic stuff like that to attack or talk down people on things that haven't even happened in the threads you comment on?  Happydolphin did it just yesterday, among some others, and see where it led too. It's just wrong. It screams desperation, is totally uncalled for and it derails the threads unnecessarily.

haha calm down buddy.

Where did i say anything out of topic? All i said really was dont be too hasty, there was nothing about my statment(phrase) that was off topic. All i intended to do was to get people to think twice before commenting in this thread. I did not insult anyone, I'm not trying to toll, and i didnt derail anything. Like i said i should have been more clear, my bad.

because the most powerful is usually the most expensive.  That is not the case now.

Problem is who is going to financially back the Steambox?  Just Valve?  Do they have enough money?

And by steambox I assume you mean 1 PC fits all type approach?

ok I guess you didn't imply all I thought you did haha.  Just tired of people using the "MS has more money so they win" argument (which you were just pointing out a few advantages).  I agree they can get third party exclusives but I don't think they can get COD or BF exclusive anytime soon.  Let's remember that Bioshock, ME, and some others were simply timed and I expect Titanfall to follow suit.  EA likes to bring their games to a lot of platforms and seeing as how BF and COD have sold 10s of millions on PS3 this gen even with Xbox having a bigger install base most of the gen, I don't see them turning away from those profits.  They can still get some cool new IP and some DLC deals from them but I just don't think timed stuff has nearly as much of an effect as a permanently exclusive first party game.

Even if MS was able to pull off a Madden and Battlefield exclusivity, the Playstation wouldn't be dead.  Madden sales have slowly been slipping over the years.  Fifa is a much larger brand, now.  And there's no way EA is going to piss off its EU market by making it a Xbox One exclusive.  Not when they run the risk of pushing people towards Konami's PES.  And COD still sells more than twice as much as Battlefield, so PS4 owners will still get their FPS fix, while Battlefield will just sell a few million units fewer each year.  Of course, those exclusive agreements would only last for a year or two.  Once the PS4 starts outselling the Xbox One WW, companies will really have no choice but to start supporting the system so they can sell to the bigger audience.

Dude if Battlefield and Fifa become Xclusives then the Playstation is dead and gone Fifa is the biggest franchise in Europe and there 20 people I know who bought a Playstation only because of Fifa. And PES is no attractive alternative because it is so much inferior its a different class of soccer game. But this is just pure speculation

Time will tell....Too early to call.

One thing Sony has for sure: the best balance of power and price of the 8th generation. Smells like victory, provided the games keep coming, and assuming other gimmicks won't take over like Wii did (Wii U gamepad and Kinect 2.0 would need to bomb).
