JUST CAUSE 3 SKY FORTRESS DLC COMING MARCH

http://www.pcgamer.com/just-cause-3-sky-fortress-dlc-coming-march/

I'm sure I've seen that flying nuclear battlestation before. Just Cause 3's first piece of DLC, Sky Fortress, pits Rico against the copyright-skirting Eden Corporation. The Eden Corporation, as you can see, are a little better funded than your average island dictator, boasting mechs, drones, laser cannons and airborne carrier ships. Not to be deterred, Rico has got his hands on some vibranium (or rather, a 'Bavarium weaponised wingsuit' so as not to provoke the lawyers).

CONSORTIUM: THE TOWER DEV PROMISES "RADICAL PLAN" TO SAVE ITS KICKSTARTER

http://www.pcgamer.com/consortium-the-tower-dev-promises-radical-plan-to-save-its-kickstarter/

Consortium: The Tower kicked off its Kickstarter last month, with a goal of 450,000 Canadian dollars—about $328,000. Despite the relatively positive critical reception that the original Consortium received, the campaign has floundered, and as of right now sits at just C$169,000 ($123,000) in support. But even though the Kickstarter will come to an end in less than three days, developer Interdimensional Games says that all is not lost.

MASTER OF ORION TRAILER REVEALS A CAST OF SCI-FI STARS

http://www.pcgamer.com/master-of-orion-trailer-reveals-a-cast-of-sci-fi-stars/

Master of Orion, the reboot of the epic 4X sci-fi strategy game that was originally published by Microprose way back in 1993, will arrive as an early access release in just over a week, with an impressive cast of voice actors in tow: Luke Skywalker, Mr. Worf, Freddy Krueger, Wash, Q, Howling Mad Murdock, and a wack of others.

NEW DARK SOULS 3 FOOTAGE SHOWS KNIGHTS AND CLERICS IN ACTION

http://www.pcgamer.com/new-dark-souls-3-footage-shows-knights-and-clerics-in-action/

Dark Souls 3 is a matter of months away, so the gameplay footage is emerging thick and fast. The video below, taken from a recent livestream hosted by From Software, doesn't look like anything new at first glance. We've seen that environment before (Wes wrote at length about traipsing through it), but the two classes used – the knight and cleric – haven't been shown in any great detail before.

ASSASSIN'S CREED MAY NOT BE ANNUALISED WHEN IT RETURNS IN 2017

http://www.pcgamer.com/assassins-creed-may-not-be-annualised-when-it-returns-in-2017/

We know Assassin's Creed won't get a major instalment in 2016, which has been interpreted as Ubisoft giving its long-labouring series a year off. But according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, it isn't as simple as that: by the sound of things, the publisher is rethinking its approach to rolling out sequels.

FALLOUT 4 TAKES GAME OF THE YEAR AT THE DICE AWARDS

http://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-4-takes-game-of-the-year-at-the-dice-awards/

I confess myself surprised. The prizewinners at last night's DICE Awards have been announced, and Fallout 4 is in the top spot. Don't get me wrong, Fallout 4 is solid game—I'm all over it in terms of raw world design—but in a year filled with innovators perhaps I was expecting something less traditional to take Game of the Year.

>>I'll be damn honest with this: does someone really care about this (and other) videogame prizes? (that may be a good idea for a thread)

STRAFE RESURFACES WITH ANOTHER SEMINAL TRAILER

http://www.pcgamer.com/strafe-resurfaces-with-another-seminal-trailer/

Exactly one year ago, STRAFE secured $208,000 Kickstarter funding with arguably the best trailer made with any budget. Except maybe Kung Fury—but it was close! It's good to see a year of development hasn't dampened the devs' spirits any: they're back with another mad trailer for you to have a lunchtime smirk at.

Awesome mod. I thought Resi 4 was HD on PC but according to those before and after shots, apparently not.

Yeah, I was wondering this myself the other day...in board gaming, for example, whoever gets "Spiel des Jahres" award can expect significant boost in sales...so, in that hobby, awards mean something.

Don't take my word for it, but as far as I know the original PC port of RE 4 was in SD like the PS2 version of the game from which it was ported. This fan project is a very enhanced version of that game.

In 2014, when Capcom launched an HD edition of the game for PS3/360, they also launched it on PC.

Also... I posted this story on today's news :P.

That's interesting. Maybe we should pay attention to the weekly sales and see if Rise of the Tomb Raider improved its sales after it won a BAFTA, and the same goes for FO4.
