Intel is perfectly capable of enter the GPU market and make a good product, but I'm not sure if they would be able to handle the constant driver updates that it brings.

Relax, man, it was (mostly) a joke comment. But I still think it's a weird combination, just like the AC one was too.

Oh, and you forgot about Renegade Ops. I don't remember if you can play as Gordon Freeman, but I'm sure you can play riding the buggy he used in HL 2.

If they do get into market I'm sure they will up their game - they're Intel after all (ocassinal fuckup aside), if nVidia can do it, Intel sure can.

I think they should start doing both things at the same time. Having proper drivers is not an easy task, as Nvidia and AMD prove every now and then when they screw it up.
