Doesn't Gwent contain lootboxes? Also they have a full store of DLC.

I didn't know that Gwent has lootboxes, but as far as I know Gwen is a free to play game, not an AAA game being sold at full price. Maybe they think that  one thing does not go against the other.

A bit of the experience over the weekend on my new PCs.

1. I had 2 freezes in RL. Not complete freezes but just the game. Didn't have that before. Could be the PC or the new patch.
2. My controller randomly stopped working sometimes. Not completely but just certain things like the triggers or analog sticks. Might be the controller, bought a new one to confirm.
3. I may have to buy an extra KBM for my SPC. I'm constantly forgetting to bring my wireless KBM to the PC from the couch and back again.
4. The sound over LAN app works perfectly. Unobtrusive and I totally forgot that I even have it. Highly recommended. If it only worked with consoles.
5. I do not feel any significant performance plus by removing all other software. But at least I don't get any drops anymore when watching streams in parallel which was the point of the whole thing.

I can't wait for my next Upgrade though.

Civilization 4 is free for Twitch Prime subscribers right now
https://www.pcgamer.com/civilization-4-is-free-for-twitch-prime-subscribers-right-now/
Civilization 4 marked the start of a new generation of Civ games. It was the first in the series with a 3D engine, the first built from the ground-up as a multiplayer game, and the first with accessible modding. As game designer Soren Johnson told Fraser in November, he wanted to "start from scratch and re-evaluate everything" about the series up to that point. It's still worth playing today, and Twitch Prime subscribers can now do just that for free for a limited time.
All you have to do is head over to the game's Twitch page (or click the 'Prime Loot' icon next to your user name) to get your free copy—you'll need to download the Twitch desktop app to actually play it. You can do that here.

The goal of the project is to be mostly accurate to the original game as well as add very minor improvements for that extra bit of polish.

Fallout 4 mod adds socially aware, hyper-aggressive dogs
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-4-mod-adds-socially-aware-hyper-aggressive-dogs/
As if the nuclear apocalypse, having my wife murdered and my son stolen wasn't bad enough, Fallout 4's Mongrel dogs are about to get tougher. I hate Fallout 4's Mongrel dogs at the best of times, thus the idea of them becoming more socially aware in battle makes me feel a little queasy.
Greslin's Pack Attack Fallout 4 mod is responsible for this, as it attaches a script to all Mongrel dogs that continually evaluates the canine's "current immediate social environment and threat situation". In turn, if a dog senses other dogs nearby, it'll become more aggressive in the knowledge its backup isn't far off. If it realises it's on the back foot in any given fight—ie, if it can't find its companions, or has taken a lot of damage—it's more likely to turn tail and run.

Two Point Hospital's new in-game footage is what you hoped for
https://www.pcgamer.com/two-point-hospitals-new-in-game-footage-is-what-you-hoped-for/
The first of many throwback sims—"our Little Springfield," so says the developer—Two Point Hospital aims to recapture the humour and refined business management mechanics of its source material. And if the latest in-game footage is anything to go by, I reckon it's on the right path to making that happen.

JRPG The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 2 has arrived on PC
https://www.pcgamer.com/jrpg-the-legend-of-heroes-trails-of-cold-steel-2-has-arrived-on-pc/

It's in no small part thanks to Peter 'Durante' Thoman—the modder that fixed Dark Souls on PC—who has worked with Xseed on numerous ports, including the first Trails of Cold Steel, which came to PC last year (and has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam).

Final Fantasy 15 teases mod support with civilian Cactuars
https://www.pcgamer.com/final-fantasy-15-teases-mod-possibilities-with-civilian-cactuars/
When I interviewed Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata at Gamescom last year, we spoke about its incoming PC iteration and the effect player-made mods will have on the game.
(...) "With Final Fantasy 15 we went in a slightly different direction, right from the start the way the whole game is structured and created gives each individual player their own individual and unique FF15 journey. I certainly think the modding community is going to resonate with that and the idea that you can change it any way they want is exciting."

Towards the end of last year, we learned that Final Fantasy 15's minimum PC specs are surprisingly accessible. But if you've got the power to push its boundaries, FF15's Windows Edition has scope to look wonderful.
And if you won't take me on my word, I suggest you check out the duo of trailers that've surfaced from the PC Gamer Weekender 2018.

Vampire-themed action RPG Code Vein is already expected to play like an anime version of Dark Souls, and an announcement this week on its co-op system won't do anything to dispel that comparison. Excellent real-time wargame Steel Division: Normandy 44 has just deployed its second DLC package, and it's a meaty one. Back to Hell adds seven historically accurate missions, such as Operation Deadstick, an airborne campaign that formed part of the Normandy beach landings. Those seven missions will let you play as 11 divisions that haven't appeared in the game before, including the 1st (US) Infantry Division, or the 'Big Red One', as they were known (you might recognise them from various Call of Duty games, including WW2). Five of the missions are available in co-op.

Rare talks listening to critics and running Sea of Thieves on a potato

A few years ago, we published an article asking developers to stop making horrible PC ports. It's a guide that should have been inscribed on massive stone tablets throughout the land, but it's 2018 now, and rubbish PC ports are still happening. One developer our words did get through to is Rare, who took to the stage at the recently concluded PC Gamer Weekender to reveal just how close Sea of Thieves comes to following our extensive list of commandments to the letter.

"Automaton lifts the lid on Mavericks: Proving Grounds' impressive tech"
This looks like it may be worth keeping any eye on.

"Ubisoft does not plan a sequel to Rainbow Six: Siege, has 27 million total players, playerbase still growing"
We don't want updates, we want New Games.
Stop being lazy Ubisoft.
Crank out as many, buggy, games as you can!!!

"Doom 64: Retribution brings Doom 64 to GZDoom Engine, new version improves dynamic lights & textures"
This is why I love PC gaming.
Old games don't just get older, they get better.
I absolutely love how the community works to upgrade these old games.

"This mod brings Duke Nukem’s voice, model and weapons to the classic Half Life"
And, sometimes the games get downgraded.
(The mod does look pretty cool)

"Build a gaming PC in a game with PC Building Simulator"

Looking at these graphics, it is clearly targeted at people still running integrated graphics hardware.
"Build and grow your very own computer repair enterprise as you learn to diagnose, fix and build PCs. With real-world licensed components, realistic pricing plus comprehensive hardware and software simulation you can plan and bring your ultimate PC to life."
So, the game is unbeatable?

"Rare talks listening to critics and running Sea of Thieves on a potato"
Is this news?
We already know it can run on the base Xbox One.

Flight Simulator expansion installed password-stealing malware as DRM
https://www.pcgamer.com/flight-simulator-expansion-installed-password-stealing-malware-as-drm/
There have been some pretty heavy-handed DRM schemes cooked up over the years, but off the top of my head I can't think of any sketchier than the one built into FSLabs' A320-X expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. As noted recently on Reddit, the installer includes a "Chrome Password Dump" tool that can be used to surreptitiously swipe usernames and passwords. It's the sort of thing that sounds like it has to be a mistake, but FSLabs founder Lefteris Kalamaras confirmed in the company's forums that it's meant to be there.

Assassin's Creed Origins' non-combat Discovery Tour is out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/assassins-creed-origins-adds-educational-discovery-tour-mode-today/
All games with impressive worlds should have non-combat tourist modes. Slaughtering beasts and baddies is great fun, but I love clearing an area of enemies and then returning to their natural habitats with the luxury of peace and quiet.
Assassin's Creed Origins adds its educational The Discovery Tour today with this in mind.

Biomutant's character creator and crazy exploration gear detailed
https://www.pcgamer.com/biomutants-character-creator-and-crazy-exploration-gear-detailed/
Biomutant is the open world RPG to watch this year: a mutant and mech-focused game with a gorgeous post-apocalyptic landscape to explore, and not a boring human character in sight. Instead you'll be playing as a cute, Rocket Raccoon-style mutant critter, who you'll be able to customise to your liking.

Julian Gollop shows how not to defeat the crabmen in Phoenix Point
https://www.pcgamer.com/julian-gollop-shows-how-not-to-defeat-the-crabmen-in-phoenix-point/
In a match between Julian Gollop and a load of crab men, I like to think that the X-COM designer would at least put up a decent fight, given his experience with tactically snuffing out aliens, and the fact he'd be literally playing them at his own game. And yet here he is showing how not to defeat the crab men and the crab queen in a demo for his upcoming turn-based tactics game Phoenix Point, which is a bit like X-COM but with more murderous crustaceans.

Total War: Rome 2 announces Desert Kingdoms DLC, adds Cleopatra and Teuta
https://www.pcgamer.com/total-war-rome-2-announces-empire-divided-dlc-adds-cleopatra-and-teuta/
Total War: Rome 2's Empire Divided adds little that feels substantially new, so said our Tom after his recent deep dive into the recalcitrant late third century.
Creative Assembly and Sega have now announced Desert Kingdoms—a new DLC culture pack which aims to further bolster Rome 2, a game celebrating its fifth birthday later this year.

Is there any simulator game that's actually beatable?
