Well, I can't help you with that .

I guess I'll just have to watch some tutorial videos then.

There are other users besides me

I don't know about Chazore, zero129 for example knows a lot about emulation, maybe he knows about DOSbox too. Then there are guys that know about the PC echosystem, like Pemalite, Holodust, etc. that maybe can also help you.

Please excuse my bad English.

I could ask Quake I guess, I'm not sure how often he uses DOSbox though as I think he still has a DOS-based PC.

It took Steam more than 7 months to get from a 14 million concurrent user record to a 15 million concurrent user record: http://www.ubergizmo.com/2017/09/steam-hits-15-million-concurrent-users/

From 15 million concurrent users to a 16 million concurrent users: just two weeks

Winter is coming. ;)

Those stats are useless. I want concurrent Steam users who are actually in a game.

Are there any big box PC game collectors here? Do you have any suggestions for someone like me who is maybe interested in starting a collection?

Been tempted.
The problem with newer PC games is that CD keys are often tied with services like Steam, uDontPlay, Origin and so on... So it can make buying second hand a gamble sometimes. - Plus many publishers don't even bother with a Physical release at all.
Instead... The only Physical PC games I buy are Blizzards titles, the big boxes do look great though.

I'll just stick to collecting digitally on PC and Physical on console.

I was looking into getting DOS games myself, but I'll have to get more acquainted with DOSbox before I do that!!

If you find DosBox to difficult... And it can be for some, there is another alternative... Virtual Machines, just get a copy of Win98 SE and bobs your uncle.

Or you could build a retro machine... The *perfect* Retro PC would probably be something with a Voodoo 3 paired up with a Radeon 8500/Geforce 4 Ti under Windows 98 SE... You can pretty much play any PC game right up to about 2007ish that way... And still get the juicy Glide games in all their Mc'Glory.

Yeah, it'd probably be mainly for retro games, as I'll go with consoles for modern games. I do find DOSbox difficult, but it's probably because I'm not accustomed to DOS itself, and not having a GUI.

Obsidian admits that Fallout: New Vegas was limited by consoles
http://www.dsogaming.com/news/obsidian-admits-that-fallout-new-vegas-was-limited-by-consoles/
It’s no secret that multi-platform games are limited by the hardware of consoles; a limitation that’s not present on the PC as developers can push things as much as they want. The Crysis series is a perfect example of how a game can be limited by consoles and it appears that Fallout: New Vegas was also a victim of such a thing.

Gone Home prevented Tacoma from being judged on its own, says creator Steve Gaynor
http://www.pcgamer.com/gone-home-prevented-tacoma-from-being-judged-on-its-own-says-creator-steve-gaynor/
Fullbright's Steve Gaynor has now described Tacoma's reception as "a very different experience" from Gone Home's 2013 launch—one which has provided he and his team with "a much more realistic version of what launching a game is really like." Gaynor tells me that the videogame landscape has since shifted considerably, and that Gone Home's runaway success met the demands of a then shifting industry: away from violent videogames into more experimental territory.

The Overwatch 'Halloween Terror' event returns next week

Dota 2 'Midas Mode' tournament is coming in November
http://www.pcgamer.com/dota-2-midas-mode-tournament-is-coming-in-november/
The Dota 2 Midas Mode Tournament is as clever as it is simple. Teams are given equal amounts of virtual money called "Moonbucks"—named after Moonduck, the outfit that came up with the idea—which must be used to finance every action they take over the course of the tournament. Judicious money management will enable teams to make the right moves at the right times, but blowing it on bad calls will leave them struggling to compete with a no-budget lineup of Dota chumps.

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds has suffered some serious server issues of late that have left players struggling to connect, or to get to the menu screen when they could. We thought for awhile that the problems had been cleared up, but it quickly came to light that our analysis was a little over-optimistic. For now the issues persist, but the PUBG development team says it's doing its best to fix things up.

Silly Knight is one of 6 brand new DOS games you can play today
http://www.pcgamer.com/silly-knight-is-one-of-6-brand-new-dos-games-you-can-play-today/
This month Czech retro gaming site High-Voltage.cz ran a competition for DOS games, specifically MS-DOS 6.22 games in text mode that could be run on a 486DX / 50MHz with 8MB of RAM. Fortunately you can also play them on a more modern machine thanks to DOSBox.
The six entries can be downloaded from the link in the blue box on this page. They include a sci-fi shooter called Space Assault and a dungeon crawler called Dungeons of Noudar, but the overall winner was action platformer Silly Knight.

We last heard from indie studio House House when they released Push Me Pull You, a local multiplayer game where each player controlled one head of a wriggling, two-headed worm person. Their next project, currently called "Untitled Goose Game", is looking strange in its own way.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Oh btw, Return to Lordran 2017 is today ! So I might go back for more Dark Souls, however I'm playing The Surge now and I'm having such a blast ^^

I just find it ignorant of him to spread fud and act like it's the gamers fault and not the devs. The guy likes to think that all devs are pure and completely innocent of not fucking things up.

People are human, the devs are human, humans are very much capable of marginal error at times.

He likes to think that he knows a lot about PC gaming, as well as the hw and how games are made, but he really doesn't and it shows.
