Ubisoft wants to move away from heavily-scripted, narrative-driven games towards more freeform experiences, according to the publisher's chief creative officer Serge Hascoet. In an interview with Le Monde, Hascoet said that he wants Ubisoft games to resemble an "anecdote factory", and that titles allowing player expression outsell more linear titles.

Back in 2014, past-me wrote about an intriguing platformer named Even the Ocean, from the developers of dreamy Zelda-like Anodyne. I reviewed that, and really enjoyed it, so I'm pretty interested in this "narrative action platformer about balancing the Light and Dark energies that hold the world together". Balancing the world's bright/gloomy energies sounds like a worthwhile thing to be doing, and you can finally do just that as Even the Ocean is finally out.

CFK released a new patch for Wonder Boy Returns. According to the company, this patch gives players the ability to play as the current ‘new’ Boy, but also play as the classic 1986 arcade version, ‘Retro Boy’, and even can select Tina as a playable character.

Let me phrase it this way. If I can't find a good ASUS card then I would also consider KFA. I would never buy a 1070 though.

Titanfall 2 is an outstanding shooter, and one of the best games to come out this year. As Andy reported last month, videogame voice actors and motion capture artists recently went on strike following a contractual disagreement between major publishers and the performers' union SAG-AFTRA. David Hayter and Jennifer Hale—who you may recognise as Metal Gear Solid's original Solid Snake and FemShep from the Mass Effect series, among other roles—have now spoken out about some of the hardships which in part led to the strike action.

And my options, given my budget, are a RX 480 or a GTX 1060. Thanks to the BF deal, that KFA 1070 would become a viable purchase. I'd love to buy a 1080, but it would need a hell of a discount to enter into the realm of what I can actually buy.

Oh, Intel's Kaby Lake CPUs are coming soon. and while you can use the existing motherboards with Z170 and H170 chipsets with them (as long as they get a BIOS update from the manufacturer, something that most have already done), they will come alongside Intel's new 200 series.

The new features that may interest us the most are Intel's Optane Technoilogy (that's for SSDs) and that the new chipsets have more PCIe lanes.

These M.2 or mSATA SSDs are killing my mind, making me buying more a piece of chip for my current desktop(or next build) and even gaming laptops and forget about SATA 3 ports.
