Let me phrase it this way. If I can't find a good ASUS card then I would also consider KFA. I would never buy a 1070 though.

Well, if you couldn't find an Asus card, you would look at every other brand out there, right?

And my options, given my budget, are a RX 480 or a GTX 1060. Thanks to the BF deal, that KFA 1070 would become a viable purchase. I'd love to buy a 1080, but it would need a hell of a discount to enter into the realm of what I can actually buy.

There are several brands I wouldn't look at. Gigabyte, MSI, Pallit, EVGA and Zotac. That basically only leaves KFA, Inno3d, Gainward and ASUS. I would only pick the other if the reviews are overwhelmingly good.

Interesting.

My Sapphire 5850 has served me extremely well, so that's a brand I would pick without hesitation, but they only work with AMD. MSI and ASUS would also be at the top of my list, followed by Gigabyte and Zotac. But of course, those are brands that I know about, unlike the others.

Heck, Gainward and KFA/Galaxy weren't even available here not so long ago.

In any case, I found a review of the KFA 1070 at Mad Shrimps, and it looks like a good card, tho I would like to read other reviews.

Let's go with the news. But before, Black Friday

UBISOFT "INCREDIBLY HAPPY" WITH WATCH DOGS 2 DESPITE SLOW LAUNCH WEEK SALES

Despite an onslaught of pre-release publicity, including perhaps the most obvious marketing promotion of all time, sales of Ubisoft's Watch Dogs 2 have failed to come close to those of the original. The first sign that it came out of the gate slower than expected arrived from GfK Chart-Track, which didn't releasespecific numbers but said in a release that Watch Dogs 2 debuted in second place on the UK sales charts, closely behind Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

When asked if the studio is "trying to put all of Fallout 4 in VR," he answered bluntly, "We definitely are."

MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA'S TEMPEST SHIP HAS NO LOADING SCREENS
http://www.pcgamer.com/mass-effect-andromedas-tempest-ship-has-no-loading-screens/
"We could have had the Normandy 3," BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn told PC Gamer earlier this year. "But we decided to take a step to the left." That sidestep marks the introduction of Mass Effect Andromeda's Tempest—a ship that's similarly sleek in design but is instead built primarily for exploration as opposed to combat. In conversation with Game Informer, BioWare shared details on the new ship's structure—not least that it won't contain loading screens.
