Indiebox has come a long way since we looked at it shortly after its debut in 2014. Back then, it was a handful of guys, many of them volunteers, folding and stuffing boxes by hand, and then hauling them off to the post office to mail out to subscribers. Now, it has a deal with Gamestop to package up hit indie games in Steelbook-encased collectors editions, and sell them in roughly 1200 stores across the US.

Spanish developer Locomalito makes pretty, and pretty authentic, arcade-style action games, and if you've not heard of The Curse of Issyos, Hydorah, or Maldita Castilla, then I know what you're going to be playing for the rest of this weekend. (Have fun!) That last one, a Ghosts 'n' Goblins-esque gothic platformer, has just been enhanced and extended by developer Abylight Studios; you'll find it on Steam here.

Telltale and Micrsoft have made the first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode available for free, providing that a) you have Windows 10, and b) you download it from Microsoft's store. This comes a month or so after the release of the final (for real) part of Telltale's episodic Minecraft adventure, which was originally going to be in five parts, but eventually ballooned to eight, with the addition of three bonus chapters.

Given that post-apocalyptic, Roman Empire-inspired RPG Age of Decadence was in development for over ten years, I did suspect that we'd be waiting a wee while for its subterranean spin-off Dungeon Rats to come out. But no, only a few months after its reveal, Dungeon Rats is set to release. It's a more combat-heavy RPG set in the same world as Decadence, and it'll be out on November 4. GEARS OF WAR 4 BUMPS UP CREDIT AND XP REWARDS IN HORDE MODE

Gears of War 4's Horde mode was tweaked a tad over the weekend, resulting in higher credit and XP earn rates in both public and private matches. The Coalition announced the permanent update on the official Gears of War forums, where adjustments have been in demand since the game's launch.

Three years in the making, From Darkness is an interactive documentary research project, created by Austrian artist group Gold Extra, that allows players to "encounter the turmoils and conflicts that have plagued eastern Africa [for decades]." I's still in alpha, however its version 0.6 is now available to download for free.
