http://www.pcgamer.com/bj-blazkowicz-voice-actor-teases-a-wolfenstein-sequel/
At this year's E3, Bethesda Softworks very quietly teased a new Wolfenstein game. A screen of a DOS-style directory that kicked off the studio's pre-E3 conference listed the three Wolfenstein titles relevant to Bethesda's run with the game—Wolf3D, The New Order, and The Old Blood—and a fourth, New Colossus, which of course nobody had ever heard of. New Colossus is the title of the famous poem that reads, in part, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free," that hero BJ Blazkowicz quotes during the game's tear-jerking close.

MEDIEVAL ENGINEERS "RELAUNCHES" WITH A MAJOR GAMEPLAY UPDATE
http://www.pcgamer.com/medieval-engineers-relaunches-with-a-major-gameplay-update/
We talked about the Middle Ages construction/destruction sim Medieval Engineers a bit last year, in part (speaking for myself, anyway) because it's so much fun to watch great stone structures get smashed into little tiny pieces. That doesn't necessarily make for a great game, though, and so developer Keen Software House has rolled out a major update that "re-launches" the project with a multitude of new features including a more detailed planet, an improved rendering engine, and the ability to claim territory and ally (or go to war) with other players.

I thought this may interest those of you who have recently picked a GTX 1070 or are thinking about it:

Manufacturers roll out firmware updates for GeForce GTX 1070 due to memory Issue

https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/manufacturers-roll-out-firmware-updates-for-geforce-gtx-1070-due-to-memory-issue.html

There have been some problems reported with certain GeForce GTX 1070 cards.

After further investigation it became apparant that the issues like flickering and poor memory overclocking results on the memory sub-system are graphics memory related. GeForce GTX 1070 cards fitted with Samsung memory do not have any issues, however some manufacturers have switched towards Micron chips, and these are the culprit of the reported issues. Especially during overclocking of the graphics memory problems will appear fast with bad results like checkerboard patterns. The problem is found in the the speed of the voltage adjustment from the low power idle P-States to support the memory voltage requirements under load. If you can keep the idle voltage above 0.800V before you apply the overclock you never see the issue.

Some users also have reported that at default configuration they noticed the occasional odd issue like flickering or experiencing graphical artifacts. Multiple brands are effected. Right now most of them are working on (or already issuing) a BIOS firmware update for the graphics cards, these BIOS updates likely increase the voltage level of the GDDR5 memory.

I've been doing some rounds at the manufacturers with the following info (we'll update as feedback gets in). A number of manufacturers have been working on VBIOS updates:

  • ASUS: not yet available
  • Gigabyte: Gigabyte confirms using both Samsung and Micron memory - thus far no issues have been detected or reported by them or it consumers. Latest infor we received from their R&D is that they will issue a new BIOS. The planned schedule is next week.
  • Inno3D: no info  available
  • KFA2/Galaxy: not yet available
  • MSI: MSI have been using both Micron and Samsung memory. They are working on it and BIOS updates will be available soon on their website (after a verification and validation process).
  • PNY: no info available
  • Zotac: no info available

The most easy way to check what brand of memory your GeForce GTX 1070 is using is to download GPU-Z and read out the memory type.
