The news, part 2:
DOUBLE FINE'S SCI-FI SIDE-SCROLLER HEADLANDER GETS A RELEASE DATE AND A TRAILER
http://www.pcgamer.com/double-fines-sci-fi-side-scroller-headlander-gets-a-release-date-and-a-trailer/
Headlander was announced last summer as a “retro-futuristic, side scrolling, action-adventure” in which you play a disembodied head encased in a flying helmet, trapped in a 70s-style sci-fi dystopia ruled by an insane AI. Developer Double Fine Productions announced a release date today—July 26, just a couple of weeks away—and also a new story trailer that may be one of the finest bits of videogame promotional material I've ever seen.

Valve has issued a statement on in-game trading in which it denies any connection to or relationship with CS:GO skin gambling sites. Furthermore, it warns that it will soon begin taking action against them, and hinted at possible negative consequences for players who use gambling sites as well.
WORLD OF WARCRAFT'S UPCOMING "SILENCE PENALTY" AIMS TO CURB ABUSIVE CHAT
http://www.pcgamer.com/world-of-warcrafts-upcoming-silence-penalty-aims-to-curb-abusive-chat/
The great strength of MMOs—that they are massive—is also one of their greatest weaknesses: It only takes one loud jerk to ruin an enjoyable experience. To help crack down on the problem, Blizzard is implementing a new “silence penalty” in World of Warcraft that will put the hush on players who engage in abusive or inappropriate “chat behaviors.”
TWITCH RESEARCHER CONFIRMS THAT LIVESTREAMS HELP BOOST GAME SALES

Back near the beginning of the year, Punch Club publisher tinyBuild made an interesting proposition: It would release the game early if the audience of Twitch viewers could come together to beat it. It happened—much more quickly than anyone expected—and it also turned a very bright spotlight on the game, helping it to significant levels of success. In fact, Twitch Data Scientist Danny Hernandez said in a recent blog post that based on his calculations, 25 percent of Punch Club's sales are directly attributable to its presence on Twitch.
DOOM MOD CHEX QUEST IS GETTING A HD REMAKE
http://www.pcgamer.com/doom-mod-chex-quest-is-getting-a-hd-remake/
Chex Quest, the total conversion Doom mod designed to sell Chex cereal back in the mid-90s, is a surprisingly enduring curio among Doom fans. Not only did it spawn a sequel, but a third instalment was created in ZDoom in 2008 to sate the series' still-existent fanbase. Evan wrote about Chex Quest a while back, claiming it to be "the most successful advergame ever". Given that it still has an active fan community, he's probably right.
ROCKET LEAGUE, NIDHOGG, SPELUNKY FEATURE IN LATEST HUMBLE BUNDLE

The latest Humble Bundle is pretty darn awesome. Named the Humble Revelmode Bundle (because it’s organised by YouTube chap PewDiePie’s “creator network” Revelmode), this collection gathers the likes of Nidhogg, Spelunky, Golf With Your Friends, Roguelands and Rocket League all in the one place via the familiar tiered payment format.
KOJIMA CONFIDENT DEATH STRANDING WILL BE HIS “BEST WORK SO FAR”
http://www.pcgamer.com/kojima-confident-death-stranding-will-be-his-best-work-so-far/
Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding came as a bit of a surprise when it was revealed at this year’s E3. I mean, it was almost certain the Metal Gear mastermind would be working on something following the collapse of he and Guillermo Del Toro’s proposed Silent Hills, but a naked Norman Reedus, clutching a newborn child on an abandoned beach (which apparently somehow equates to an action game) was a bit on the weird side.
FALLOUT SHELTER SETS UP CAMP ON PC
http://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-shelter-sets-up-camp-on-pc/
Earlier this week, the official Fallout Twitter feed began counting down Fallout Shelter’s PC debut—seemingly touting July 14 as its launch date, alongside the game's 1.6 update. That’s today, I’m sure you’re aware, however it appears Bethesda snuck out the free-to-play mobile vault simulator a day early, with it premiering on PCs late last night.
