^Has the game that many cutscenes?

Anyway, after reading (and by reading I mean mostly looking at the charts) several GTX 1080 reviews, I come to two conclusions:

1-Performance, and I'll use a graph from the TechPowerUp review: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1080/

Note, I use the 1440p graph but it's basically the same at 1080p and 4k.

The GTX 1080 is a worth upgrade for those who have a GTX 970 (it's almost wtice as fast) or lower. The with a 980 or something better, it's only worth it if you need more power.

2-The Founders Edition is a total rip off. The cooler can't keep the card temps under control and limits the max boost speed of the card. See this graphs from the [H]ardOCP review: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2016/05/17/nvidia_geforce_gtx_1080_founders_edition_review#.Vzxt2-R9VxN

It's easy to see how the frequency goes down as the temp. rises, until it stabilizesaround the 1770MHz / 82ºC.

It's better to wait until cards with aftermarket coolers start to appear, which may also be cheaper.

Yes.

Final Fantasy VII had about 60 cutscenes so I wouldnt be surprised if FF8 surpasses that amount.

My God, that's even worse than Metal Gear Solid.

At least they aren't long.

Nvidia has shared more info about the GTX 1070, and the good news is that it won't suffer the same problem with the memory of the 970.

NVIDIA releases ‘full’ GeForce GTX 1070 specifications and first benchmarks

http://videocardz.com/60163/nvidia-releases-full-geforce-gtx-1070-specifications-and-first-benchmarks

According to NVIDIA’s own website, GeForce GTX 1070 has 8GB GDDR5 memory clocked at 8000 MHz effective speed across 256-bit interface. It means that ‘officially’ the maximum bandwidth is 256 GB/s. In other words, GTX 1070 should not be affected by architectural ‘design flaws’ known from GTX 970.

NVIDIA has also revealed final clock speeds of GTX 1070. The base clock is set at 1506 MHz and boost clock is set to 1683 MHz. This means the maximum theoretical single precision computing power is 6.46 TFLOPs (5.78 TFLOPs when base frequency is considered).

That said the only thing that was not yet confirmed by NVIDIA is number of ROPs.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 will feature 1920 CUDA cores, which means the GP104-200 GPU is technically cut-down by 1/4 compared to GP104-400 from GTX 1080.

Hey guys. Saw this and i'd want to see your thoughts on it.

Basically how Nvidia gpu's age much worse than AMD ones. It could be that Nvidia has better drivers initially but over time things change and AMD provides more longevity. I currently have Nvidia card but will switch to AMD next time if they only want to cater to high end buyers who upgrade every year or two.

SAMOROST 3 "SOUND DESIGN" VIDEO REVEALS THE MAGIC BEHIND THE MUSIC

http://www.pcgamer.com/samorost-3-sound-design-video-reveals-the-magic-behind-the-music/

Samorost 3, Amanita Design's latest adventure/puzzler/bizarre digital toy, is a very musical game, but not in the sense of something you'd sit down and sing along with. There are clarinets and cellos, yes, but also high-strung devils, sonorous space salamanders, choral termites, sad spirits, and a host of other creatures, all giving voice to their own unique, and generally very odd, sounds and songs. And yet the way most of those sounds were made really isn't all that unusual at all.

AN UNRAVEL SEQUEL IS ON THE WAY

http://www.pcgamer.com/an-unravel-sequel-is-on-the-way/

Unravel is the yarn-based puzzle-platformer—which, let's be honest, is quite the genre—didn't quite live up to my hopes for it (which were admittedly quite high). Nonetheless, it was pretty good stuff—and good enough, EA announced today, to warrant a sequel.

>>Hopefully, this time they'll be able to fix the wrongs of the first game.

BATTLEFIELD 1 WORLD WAR 1 SETTING INITIALLY REJECTED BY EA BRASS

http://www.pcgamer.com/battlefield-1-world-war-1-setting-initially-rejected-by-ea-brass/

EA EXPLAINS LACK OF CAMPAIGN IN STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT

http://www.pcgamer.com/ea-explains-lack-of-campaign-in-star-wars-battlefront/

A prominent criticism of Star Wars Battlefront was the lack of a singleplayer campaign. But in a recent investor broadcast, EA boss Patrick Soderlund said this was a conscious decision. They wanted to "launch the game side-by-side with the movie to get the strongest possible impact." That movie being, of course, The Force Awakens.

Being positive, it's what you say, Nvidia has better drivers out of the gate and AMD has to catch up with them over time. But even then, that doesn't explain why the Kepler cards (GTX 7xx cards) lost 13, 20 and 30% respectively.

Also, those numbers prove that AMD made a good decision when they moved to the GCN design.

Yea, am leaning towards AMD if and when i build a new system. It would be better for my gaming needs as i usually go for mid-low range cards that offer value for money. Of course things could change. For now, so long green team.

What happened with Nvidia and the 7xx series was strange. We'll have to wait and see what happens with the 9xx series in the coming months, specially the 970 with its special memory configuration.

Also, the 1060 won't be out until after summer, and we'll know what AMD has in store by then.
