Always hold, never sell, buy the dip.
Samsung will be next year's Intel/AMD, guaranteed.
(Well, near-guaranteed.)

It's really single player games from time to time. I mainly play online games like overwatch with my friends on a regular basis which a potato can run. But things like Control and other SP experiences is where the horse power would be required. But it feels like more and more that I am playing older titles than newer ones since a lot of the current AAA games don't seem to hold my interest. I could keep my 4090 for sure but if the ram shortage starts leveling out by mid to late 2027 like people are predicting, then I think I should be in the clear as long as the 6000 series is a good upgrade over the 50/40 series.
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

In that case, something like a 5070Ti could be a good option, with DLSS giving you the extra performance boost needed from time to time. Or a 9070XT if you want to try what the red team is doing nowadays.
With that said, we have no idea when the 6000 cards will actually launch nor how much will a 6090 cost. Late 2027 or early 2028 are what the rumors say, but it may be even later than that if the RAM situation doesn't improve enough. And well, it's all but confirmed that a 6090, if Nvidia bothers to make one, will be more than what a 5090 was.
It's a gamble, and it's up to you to decide.
Please excuse my bad English.
Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070
Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB
Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.
Additional RAM manufacturing capacity is coming online in bulk only in late 2027 and 2028, so if a newer generation is available before then (like the one RDNA5 GPU rumored to launch), it'll probably be in low supply, release for outrageous prices, or have handicapped memory.
My bet and it might not turn out this way is we are going to have an oversupply because these Ai companies ordered too much for how much they can actually pay back considering how much profit they make. If they can't pay for all the ram, storage, gpus and etc that's being held up and then you add in all the bulk supply that's supposed to help with lessening the shortage... In theory we might end up having a course correction that does happen from time to time during mass shortages. If it does happen, there should be a significant decrease in prices pretty quickly.
Of course, it's all a theory that might not happen at all and the component market might continue to see shortages till the 2030s. So we shall see.

Keep in mind that a lot of that memory surplus may be HBM, which won't be coming to desktop components.

Question is, what kind of RAM is supposed to be manufactured there? If it's all going to be HBM for AI supercomputers, it may ease the need for the AI companies, but do squat for consumers.
