NVidia 5060/5060Ti announcement videos (and condemnation of NVidia's shady practices for their 8GB cards):

Gamer's Nexus:

Hardware Unboxed:

Pricing and launch day:

  • 5060Ti 16GB: $429, April 16
  • 5060Ti 8GB: $379, April 16 in theory, in practice potentially later and isn't sampled to board partners
  • 5060: $299 Some time in May (no launch day and review embargo end tomorrow with the other cards, so ready to get shadow-dropped)

5060Ti 16GB is supposed to be 20% faster than the old 4060Ti (not precised by NVidia if they meant the 8GB or 16GB 4060Ti). As in the HU chart the 4060Ti has an average of 70FPS and the 5060Ti is supposedly 20% faster, that would give the 5060Ti an average of 84FPS, short of the 4070 with an average of 90FPS and just enough to beat the 7700XT.

The 5060 meanwhile is supposed to be 20-25% faster than the 4060, which would be enough to beat the 4060Ti by a hair... but it's 8GB framebuffer will hold it back a lot, so only so long it lasts...

Oh, and NVidia trying their darnest to hide the 8GB version of the 5060Ti from benchmarks really shows they know it's a waste of sand, but one they'll sell well to unknowing consumers.

The only good thing about the 5060 Ti is the 16GB version is $70 less than last gen. It's a shame the only time 60 series saw 12GB of vram was with the 3060 and since then, they have been stuck with 8GB. Nvidia could have given 5060 3GB chips to add in more vram as well since they have access to high density GDDR7 chips but alas.

Hopefully Radeon doesn't goof their pricing up with the 60 class like last time, launching 7600 with 8GB of vram while being slower than 4060 for a $30 discount was laughable.

NVidia apparently claimed that those 3GB chips have very bad availability right now. Hopefully they'll use them on the next year's SUPER upgrade...

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Mod Adds Reshade Ray Tracing
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/the-last-of-us-part-2-remastered-mod-adds-reshade-ray-tracing/
BeyondDreams has released a custom reshade preset that adds support for Ray Tracing Ambient Occlusion and Ray Tracing Global Illumination to The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. This mod aims to significantly improve the graphics of the game, so make sure to check it out.
Going into more details, this mod is based on Complete RT and eLITE RT. And, to be more precise, it will improve the in-game sky lighting, global illumination and ambient occlusion. All these improvements are also thanks to Reshade’s Ray Tracing. And, since the game did not support RT, it’s a pleasant welcome.
Complete RT is one of the best Ray Tracing Reshades. This mod has one of the most advanced screen-space Ray Tracing Shaders, letting you add GI, AO, Matte, and Glossy Reflections to your games. It also offers Color Grading, dynamic Depth of Field, and an immersive Camera Mod.
As I’ve said, Ray Tracing via Reshade is not as good as native RT. Reshade Ray Tracing is using depth information available in screen space in order to provide its “ray tracing” effects. As such, these Ray Tracing effects are not as accurate as the native RT effects that most modern-day games support. With that said, this is still a form of RT. Plus, it can improve a game’s visuals.
To showcase the mod, BeyondDreams shared the following video. At the beginning, we get to see some comparison scenes. These will give you a pretty good idea of all the visual improvements I described above.

The Oblivion Unreal Engine 5 remake is now rumored to release during the week of April 21st
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-oblivion-unreal-engine-5-remake-is-now-rumored-to-release-during-the-week-of-april-21st/
It appears that the Oblivion Unreal Engine 5 Remake is nearing release. According to Jeff Grub, this official remake will be shadowdropped the week of April 21st. In other words, we should expect it at the end of April.
Do note that Grub specifically said “Week of April 21st”, and not “April 21st”. This means that it will come out sometime between April 21st and April 25th.
Both Jeff Grub and NateTheHate are credible sources for leaks. They have not been 100% accurate, but they are still credible for most leaks and rumors. This is why I’ve decided to share this latest leak.

Tuesday news, part two:

Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 8 is among its biggest, holding 48 pages (approx. 19,000-20,000 words) of patch notes in its vast and bountiful form
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/baldurs-gate/baldurs-gate-3s-patch-8-is-among-its-biggest-holding-45-pages-approx-19-000-20-000-words-of-patch-notes-in-its-vast-and-bountiful-form/
Patch 8 of Baldur's Gate 3 releases tomorrow, April 15. And while I'm already scheming to build my gang of build-broken nightmare people to tackle Honour Mode with for a second time, I'm also wondering how I'm going to break it to my friends, family, and loved ones that they will not see me for the next two weeks.
Maybe three, actually, since Larian boss Swen Vincke's assertion after the announcement last week that Patch 8 of Baldur's Gate 3 has, uh, a lot of notes to get through. Vincke writes on X: "I just read the 48 pages of patch notes on this. If there were a Michelin guide to patches, I’d give this one 3 stars."

The Star Wars tactics game that was revealed by developer Bit Reactor in 2024 now has a title—Star Wars Zero Company—and while virtually nothing else about the game has been revealed at this point, Electronic Arts says we'll get a proper look this coming weekend as part of the Star Wars Celebration in Japan.

The Zone might always be a place where stepping a few feet in the wrong direction will leave you compressed into a wet mess by a gravitational anomaly, but you can't say it's not improving. After completing months of major patches that smoothed out some of the rougher jank in the Stalker 2 experience since its November release, developer GSC Game World just released its Q2 2025 update roadmap to sketch out its plans for post-release support as it moves from fixes to new additions.

Former Concord dev says 'it was gut wrenching to see our project fail' but urges players not to judge Marathon too soon: 'To call this game a failure before it’s even out is wild to me'

Gameplay of Bungie's extraction shooter Marathon was finally revealed over the weekend, and while there's plenty of excitement for it, a not-negligible number of gamers have jumped into the conversation to make unflattering comparisons to Concord. Spurred by those reactions, a former Concord developer has taken to Reddit (via VG247) to encourage everyone to give the game a chance—and, maybe more importantly, to show some empathy for the people working on it.

One of the best RPG narratives ever told could have gotten a sequel from Dragon Age's creator if a single publisher had the good taste to throw money at it

If you need more evidence we live in the worst of all possible worlds, how's this: Beamdog once put Dragon Age creator David Gaider to work on a full-fat sequel to Planescape: Torment—a key inspiration for Disco Elysium, one of the best videogame narratives ever told, and the current #29 on PC Gamer's Top 100—only for the project to die a slow, quiet death because no publisher wanted to throw money at it.

'This is it. Our final major game patch for Baldur’s Gate 3': The colossal Patch 8 is finally here, marking the end of (non-bug fix) updates for Larian's triumphant RPG

Well, folks, we're finally here—at the end of a long and weary campaign. Baldur's Gate 3 has received its last major patch (apart from bug fixes and stuff), and it's the doozy to end all doozies. It really is also the last big update this time, so I hopefully won't have to endure further finger-waggles from Larian.

I see.

The performance loss is huge, yes, but since FSR4 is roughly one month old, I'd say that this project is still in the early stages and that there's room for improvement, even if they'll never reach parity.

Mind that there is no native FSR4 on Linux, so you need to:

a) emulate all of AMD's new proprietary WMMA instructions in the first place, which is a bit slow and looks bad at the moment even on RDNA4;

b) then use a hack to compile for yourself a custom version that supports RDNA3, since that can't be done by default with the software renderer being used (Mesa 3D) because it doesn't support these sorts of instructions yet.

Still, I'd call bull on that number, that would be slower than software ray tracing and that requires emulating much more complex BVH math instead. Unless that is referring to the total time the upscaler is taking (say, 14ms vs. 2ms) which is a more reasonable overhead for this sort of thing.

So what you're saying is that any performance results right now are to be taken with a generous amount of salt. Thanks.

The margin on these lower end cards is smaller than on the bigger ones, and because of that, I don't think AMD will be as aggressive as it's been with the 9070 cards.

$30 to 50 less is the best I can hope of right now, but I won't mind it if AMD proves me wrong (in a good way).

By the way, Nvidia has only given an official price for the 5060Ti 8GB model, the card they don't want reviewers to test: 405,00€. But at least it's a direct conversion from the US price with VAT, $379 => 335 € ($1= 0.89€) + 21% VAT = 405€.

That would put the 5060 at 320€ and the 5060Ti 16GB at 459€.

Even Linus is pretty mad at NVidia for their shady practices for the 5060/Ti launch

The 5060Ti pricing is looking quite good actually at £399 here if they have enough stock which is only £10 more than the 4060TI 8GB model had been selling for most of it's life and people were buying lots of them so if the 20% gains are true and an extra 8GB vram it should be a good jump but I think the biggest thing is a 16GB Cuda GPU at this price to performance will be very appealing for productivity and workstations.

If that 20% is indeed true, at that $429 price, AMD will have hard time with 9060XT, at least from napkin math and what is currently known about it, which puts it under 5060Ti - so maybe they will have to price 9060XT at $349.
