It's interesting because my experience has been completely flawless not has a single crash, black screen or any performance loss running VRR, HDR with various game some with DLSS and others at native but I'm on a single screen and on HDMI so maybe I avoid everything and the problem is display port related maybe but it's a shame GN never did tests with HDMI or at least never said about the results if they did but there is one good thing with the crashes been reproducible and not just random hangs and that is like gold dust to developers so it should be something that can figure out.

Usually, if nothing is said, it means that it's not relevant. Therefore, if they don't mention HDMI, then it shouldn't cause troubles. But it's not like you can connect two monitors via HDMI with these cards, right?

Depends on the GPU model. The Asus TUF models usually have 2x HDMI, for example the RTX 5090 TUF:

Both my PC displays (LG OLED C2 42'' + LG OLED C9 55'') are connected via HDMI 2.1 with my 4090 TUF. Only my VR headset uses a display port.

Resident Evil 1997 just got an amazing HD Texture Pack
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/resident-evil-1997-just-got-an-amazing-hd-texture-pack/
Resident Evil fans, here is something special for you today. Modder ‘SonicB00M’ has released a must-have HD Texture Pack for the first classic Resident Evil game that will overhaul all of its backgrounds.
Going into more details, this mod uses the backgrounds from the Seamless HD Project, Rescale edition and the original 240p images of Resident Evil 1 and enriches them. To achieve these visual improvements, the modder used AI tools. Plus, he made thousands of manual edits (which took him around six months).
The end result is truly amazing. Below you can find some screenshots from it. Moreover, you can find some comparison screenshots here. These comparisons will give you an idea of what you can expect from this pack.
Do note that you’ll need Seamless HD Project. Otherwise, this mod will not work. You can go ahead and get SHDP from here. You can also download the HD Texture Pack from this link.

You can now download a Super Mario Mod for Pokemon Fire Red
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/you-can-now-download-a-super-mario-mod-for-pokemon-fire-red/
Pokemon and Super Mario fans, here is something for you. Have you ever wondered what a Super Mario game would look like with the mechanics of a Pokémon game? Well, time to find out.
YouTube’s ‘Alpharad’ has released a cool Super Mario Mod for Pokemon Fire Red. This mod basically replaces all the characters, NPCs and enemies of Pokemon with those from the Super Mario world.
What’s also cool here is that NPCs have specific/modded lines. For instance, some NPCs will say that they love Super Mario Bros. 3. This is a unique line that wasn’t present in Pokémon Fire Red.
Like the Super Mario games, the progression in this mod is world-based. This means that you’ll have to visit Warp Center so that you can access those worlds. Plus, you will find a lot of side quests. Oh, and the mod replaces the music with the one from the classic Super Mario games.
This is such a cool mod and I highly recommend getting it. And yes, PC gamers will be able to use an emulator to play it. After all, this is a romhack. So, head over to Alpharad’s Discord server to download it.
Now, since this is a mod, I don’t believe Nintendo will attempt to take it down. Still, this is Nintendo we’re talking about. They could find a loophole and say that this mod encourages piracy. Or something like that. Thus, you should download it while it’s still available.

Here’s how you can easily improve your PC performance in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered
https://www.dsogaming.com/articles/heres-how-you-can-easily-improve-your-pc-performance-in-the-last-of-us-part-2-remastered/
Last week, Sony released The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC. And, as I wrote in my PC Performance Analysis, the PC launch version is in a better state than the one for the first game. Still, this doesn’t mean that it is flawless. And, surprisingly enough, there is a really easy way to significantly improve your PC performance.
For whatever reason, the game performs horribly on NVIDIA GPUs with Rebar enabled. And while the NVIDIA driver has Rebar disabled by default, it appears to be bugged at the moment.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Hotfix 1.0 Released, Full Patch Notes

Nixxes and Iron Galaxy have released the first Hotfix update for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. This update is small, around 8MB, and fixes a couple of issues. So, let’s take a look at them.

Tuesday news, part two:

Major Japanese studios and publishers were having a great time in 2025, right up until the weekend because of the (you guessed it) 'insultingly dumb' US tariffs
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/game-development/major-japanese-studios-and-publishers-were-having-a-great-time-in-2025-right-up-until-this-weekend-because-of-the-you-guessed-it-insultingly-dumb-us-tariffs/
In an industry already tanking a bunch of hits, full of layoffs and studio closures, the Japanese games industry seemed to be an exception in 2025—as noted by an analyst last month, five out of eight major publishers and studios hit all-time share price highs at the start of this year, with their only real issue being a lack of staff.
Well, the tariffs imposed by the United States have begun to put a stop to all that, it seems. Last week, the Trump administration imposed "reciprocal" tariffs across the globe. Japan is set to endure a 24% tariff that'll go into effect April 9—which has naturally created a huge dent in the stock market.
As pointed out by Japanese industry analyst Dr. Serkan Toto of KantanGames on X, many of those same eight companies have endured huge stock market losses.

The turf wars begin: Schedule I is being investigated for possible copyright infringement by the publisher of Drug Dealer Simulator
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/sim/the-turf-wars-begin-schedule-i-is-being-investigated-for-possible-copyright-infringement-by-the-publisher-of-drug-dealer-simulator/
In a rather pointed example of life imitating art imitating life, Schedule I and Drug Dealer Simulator are beefing over turf—and by "beefing over turf," I mean that Drug Dealer Simulator publisher Movie Games SA has begun an investigation into potential copyright infringement of its games by Schedule I.
>> The first consequence? Drug Dealer Simulator is being review bombed.

Schedule I gets Bleuballs in its first 'proper patch,' now live in Steam beta
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/life-sim/schedule-i-gets-bleuballs-in-its-first-proper-patch-now-live-in-steam-beta/
The first "proper update" for everyone's favorite drug-dealing simulator Schedule I is now available in a Steam beta branch, where it will stay for a day or two for testing before it goes into full release.

Path of Exile 2's nerf-happy update has the playerbase revolting, review-bombing their baby, and scorning the developer's promises: 'Like reading a Blizzard post on fixing Diablo 4'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/strategy/path-of-exile-2s-nerf-happy-update-has-the-playerbase-revolting-review-bombing-their-baby-and-scorning-the-developers-promises-like-reading-a-blizzard-post-on-fixing-diablo-4/
Last week saw a major patch for Path of Exile 2 that made a bewildering range of alterations to the game, with the headline message being that almost everything got nerfed. The goal was to improve the endgame experience by making it more challenging for players: but after a few days in the wild, it looks like all Grinding Gear Games has done is hack people off.
I'll highlight some individual reactions but by far the most common complaint is about the pace of the game post-patch, with most players saying the game now feels way too slow: a combination of increased monster life, decreased player damage and the large maps making even low-level fights feel like a slog.

How a hardcore survival game morphed into an open world town-builder where you play as a corgi mech pilot
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/how-a-hardcore-survival-game-morphed-into-an-open-world-town-builder-where-you-play-as-a-corgi-mech-pilot/
You wouldn't know it by looking at Animalkind, a cozy and colorful town-builder where you play as a cute little corgi driving a mech, but it got its start in a different genre altogether. The game about building houses for a bunch of adorable forest animals was originally a hardcore survival game.

Am I the only one wondering what's going to happen to Blade, now that he's not the new hero for Season 2?
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/third-person-shooter/am-i-the-only-one-wondering-whats-going-to-happen-to-blade-now-that-hes-not-the-new-hero-for-season-2/
We now know that the two new heroes arriving in Marvel Rivals for Season 2 are Emma Frost and Ultron. Despite being incredibly excited to get my hands on both characters, I can't help but wonder what this all means for our friend Blade, who's still stuck in a small room on the Central Park map.

Sabrina Carpenter has been revealed as the icon for Fortnite Festival's eighth season
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rhythm/sabrina-carpenter-has-been-revealed-as-the-icon-for-fortnite-festivals-eighth-season/
After Hatsune Miku's reign as Fortnite Festival's icon during Season 7, a new heir must take the throne. For Season 8, that would be Sabrina Carpenter. After a very obvious teaser was shared on the official Fortnite social media pages, it wasn't hard to guess that the pop star would be the next mascot for the rhythm game, but now it's been revealed can we take a moment to appreciate how scarily accurate her character model is?

Shelter's developer is now making a cozy decorating game called Twinkleby
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/city-builder/shelters-developer-is-now-making-a-cozy-decorating-game-called-twinkleby/
The developers of the emotional animal parent Shelter games have just announced their next project and although it's definitely still what I'd call "cozy," it's pretty different from the studio's past work. Twinkleby, announced today for release in 2025, is a "relaxing decoration game" about a floating archipelago of islands.

Who's next?

Sounds like my next pc upgrade will need to wait till 2030 after the Trump administration is over lol

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

My RTX 5080 arrived, it has all the ROPs and works great.

I also got myself a 4k 240hz monitor, and it looks amazing compared to my other 4k 60hz monitor. It's the first time I've gone above 60fps. It's also very bright (1,000 nits)

Now my PC upgrades are complete.

GPU = RTX 3070 -> RTX 5080
CPU = i7-4790k -> 9800X3D
RAM = 16GB DDR3 (1333 MHz) -> 32gb DDR5 (6000 MHz)
OS = Windows 10 -> Windows 11
PSU = Corsair 650w -> Corsair 750w
SSD = Kingston SV300S37A 120GB (450 MB/s) -> Samsung 990 PRO 2TB (7450 MB/s)
Motherboard = Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 -> ASUS PRIME X870-P WIFI
Monitors = Asus PB287Q + Old ass Sharp TV -> Asus PB287Q + Odyssey G8

In any case, I'm happy you're not affected by this mess.

*snip*

There is some models that have 2x HDMI connectors mostly the Asus cards but a few others do also so they could of tested it and ruled it out if they couldn't reproduce crashes on dual HDMI but if it didn't cause problems I think they would of mentioned it's a DP thing only so I presume they never did the tests.

What can I say. Nvidia referene cards and PCBs come with one HDMI and three Display ports since Ampere. If Asus and others decide to change that on their own designs and go for a simetrical design, then great but, unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't change the reason they didn't test it.

GN tested the configurations posted online that had problems, and given how nitpickers they are with the details, I can only assume that they either tested using only with DP because that's what those users were using or because mixing DP and HDMI caused no problems.

In any case, someone probably had the same doubts and posted it in the comments of the video. You can try to find it and see if GN has replied to it.

Congratulations!

Not only will you notice the big jump from both the CPU and GPUs, but that massive increase in storage will also make it easier to install games without worrying about how much storage is left.

The new monitor is the cherry on top.

Have fun with it.

That is some nice upgrades you got there and if you've never had HDR before you in for a visual treat once you get it set up proper just make sure you set the screen up itself first then do the Windows HDR collaboration for a base line in games that don't have their own settings and tone from the Windows.

So $379 and $429 for RTX 5060 Ti, 8GB and 16GB respectively.

Only retail price matters, those ones are likely fake.
