Lots of interesting news today boys!

Sounds like you can do 5.5Ghz all core for gaming but if you do "professional" work, you would be better off running 5.2Ghz all core... Assuming you have the cooling necessary to make it work. 48ns is also impressive for ram timings.

AMD Ryzen 7700X/7600X rumored Cinebench R23 scores are in

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-ryzen-7700x-7600x-rumored-cinebench-r23-scores-are-in

Most likely, AlderLake S will win in Multicore thanks to all the E-cores but Zen 4 should be slightly ahead in Single Core. This is supposed to be R23 so there is a typo.

Corsair Xeneon Flex is the first BENDABLE OLED gaming monitor

https://videocardz.com/press-release/corsair-xeneon-flex-is-the-first-bendable-oled-gaming-monitor

- XENEON FLEX OLED’s 45in screen and 3,440×1440 resolution (21:9 aspect ratio)
- Partnership with LG Display, brightness up to 1000nit
- Up to 240Hz refresh
- All backed by a three-year Zero Burn in and Zero Dead Pixel Warranty

Of course, since it's a corsair product, it will probably cost the price of your first born child. Still a lot of impressive and interesting ideas with the biggest flaw being the resolution as 3440 x 1440p on a 45 inch monitor is pretty yikes. Still, you love to see the competition between Samsung Display and LG Display in the PC Monitor space.

Wow... I am glad I didn't get GPD Win Max 2 cause this looks even more fap worthy. Granted will be much more expensive than the Steam Deck.

PS5 price to increase in select markets due to global economic environment, including high inflation rates

May as well be everywhere but the US. This feels like a foreshadowing for Lovelace and RDNA 3...

Seems powerful enough. Wonder how much of it comes from IPC increases and how much of just the higher clock speeds...

Speaking of clock speeds, the high base clocks of the Ryzen 7xxx chips are pretty interesting to me. I wonder how this will translate into the mobile APUs next year; maybe we'll get some 8c/16t U series chip with over 3Ghz base clock, Zen 3+ was already pretty close to that (2.7 Ghz on the 6800U)

Wouldn't this be the first time that a console's normal price would be adjusted upwards after release? Or did this happen before?

I knew there wouldn't be any price cuts this gen due to the inflation, but a price increase is not something I ever expected!

Thank you. It looks impressive.

For those having trouble finding the download links, or those that don't have the hardware but still want to check it out, check the DSOGaming article that has three videos: https://www.dsogaming.com/news/new-unreal-engine-5-broadleaf-forest-tech-demo-available-for-download/

Weird. That site had links of their own. Perhaps they took 'em donw!

Oh! They removed the links? I thought it was the browser I was using, that was playing tricks on me (wouldn't be the first time).

Well, I'm glad I posted it, then.

They do seem to be powerful enough, and also run quite hot, tho who could blame it with that voltage.

The interesting question here is the pricing, because while the Ryzen 7000 CPUs will be powerful enough, it doesn't seem like they'll be the fastest and, while the added cost of a new platform and no option to skip costs reusing the RAM, the fight with Intel could be a bit hard for AMD unless they're agressive with their prices.

It does seem interesting, indeed, and the hidden keyboard is quite the trick. But it also seems to be a bit bulky and have lots of holes for ventilation.

As far as I know, it's the first time it happened, but maybe someone has went through it and posted other examples in the thread about this price increase.

I have to say, tho, that the timing is quite weird. While inflation is rising, and rising everywhere included the US, the chip shortage is mostly a thing of the past and youI'd say that the cost is lowering a bit due to the lower demand of chips. So, with the chips being less expensive than one year ago, plus the usual cost reductions cuts that the console has seen in the almost two years since it launched, why are they increasing the price? And why so much?

In any case, if MSoft decides to not raise the price on their part, those extra 50 € could be a deciding factor to switch sides and go with team green.

Yea the APUs are gonna be very interesting with the increase in popularity of PC handhelds.

I believe so. PS4 went up in price in certain regions like in Canada but that was due to the currency being arse. I think this is the first time it went up in so many regions.

It could be that the other parts (Motherboard, casing, cooling...) are getting more expensive and eating up the price reductions.

Another thing could be that the main chip is not getting cheaper. Afaik they have to make deals with AMD on a regular basis, who in turn have to make a deal with TSMC for the production. Considering that TSMC has raised the price by quite some margin during the pandemic and removed discounts for big customers, it's possible that AMD has to actually pay more than originally for the chips, and are passing those costs down to SONY.

Finally, it could just be greed or software sales being too low for SONY's liking to cross-finance the console.

If yall want to compare the old to new prices:

Personally I think it might be due to the exchange rate. Euro has been below USD very frequently and Yen is certainly in the shitter. So maybe that + inflation if I had to guess. We will see if MS does the samething. I doubt Nintendo will change since the switch is old af but the Switch 2 will probably be more expensive than the first one.

It is possible that the APU, as well as the different parts, have increased in price but, as far as I know, Sony said last year during some quarter earnings that the PS5 with optical drive was already profitable, and I haven't seen a report from their last report saying that things had changed and it was already losing money with it.

There must be something else, like the software sales not meeting expectations, maybe because of the lack of consoles, or it could be the exchange rate as Yuri says.

Exchange rates may have something to do with it, yes, but some of those changes seem a bit too big for just only that. A 10% increase is a lot, and the +20% in Japan are ridiculous.

Loyal fans will still buy it, no doubt about it, but those that don't have a favourite, or that already managed to get am Xbox while waiting to get a PS5, will probably think twice or thrice before getting one.
