TES 6 in two years from now.. I doubt that lol.

But assuming that list is true, hype!!

I mean they got the world assets already in ESO, simple copy/paste slap on a story and good to go march next year

Yea the main thing to take away from it isn't the release dates as even if they were real, half them will get delayed guaranteed... But rather that the those games will most likely come to PC. And there are certainly some interesting ones that I never heard of.

That's true most games nowadays only have an announcement date, only for it to be pushed back. The big red flag is seeing TES 6 release date. The game was only in design phase according to Bethesda in July, so that sounds like the game is several years away. And yeah some games on there would be amazing. Like a new Arkham game would be insane, and most wanted (from me!)

@kirby007

Ew, I hope not. ESO looks very dated. This will be their flagship title so they'll be going all out for TES 6.

Linus Tech Tips Alder Lake S review slides leak

Of course today is the official review day. We are just waiting until the embargo lifts.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

So gaming pretty much on par if not slightly faster on ADL depending on game. Productivity results are pretty impressive though especially on mid range 12600K. The power consumption isn't looking that good though like over 230W for the 12900K.. The 12600K meanwhile is a bit more sensible at under 120W. I'm impressed while kinda glad it doesn't blow AMD away in gaming so I don't have the urge to upgrade anytime soon lol.

Looking forward to seeing full reviews later today.

The performance in general seems good, but I'm not sure it's worth it given the power consumption. The only one that looks mostly good all arounf is the 12600K.

Also, from another source, TweakPC, there are leaked Cinebench23 results with different power limits and the results are quite interesting:

https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-core-i9-12900k-i7-12700k-and-i5-12600k-last-minute-cinebench-results-leaked

Looks like Intel poshed the chips to the limit in order to get the best results posible, throwing efficiency out of the window. Going above 150W doesn't seem worth it.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Looking at the some of the reviews and stuff Alderlake definitely destroy AMD Zen 3 for cost to performance.

In a huge retailer in the UK (Curry's) these are the prices for the ADL line -
https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/search-keywords/xx_xx_xx_xx_xx/intel%2Balder%2Blake/xx-criteria.html?awc=1599_1636035073_0f9ae60f62b7206a18c28860c565c6a4&srcid=369&xtor=AL-1&cmpid=aff~Tech%20Advisor~Editorial%20Content~254429~IDG+Communications+LTD

Now compare that to the Zen 3 line
https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/amd-computing-accessories/components-upgrades/processors/324_3089_30342_286_xx/xx-criteria.html
Each CPU on par or lower cost than the AMD counterpart at performance of the next tier or better. I wonder if AMD will start slashing prices leading up to their refresh.

Now of course that doesn't factor in Motherboard cost, new memory etc though it does show how strong this launch is. Granted there are caveats like power consumption - if that is a factor and the need for a new and relatively beefy cooler and maybe a new PSU if you go high end.

Alder Lake S review round up

https://videocardz.com/119188/intel-12th-gen-core-alder-lake-s-review-roundup

From TechPowerUp

CPU tests

My conclusion is this.

i5 12600k is an absolute monster in gaming and even productivity. It not only kills the 5600X, it's able to keep up with 5800X in productivity and beat the 5950x in gaming. Considering it's MSRP is $300, that's insane!

i7 12700k is also very good. It beats the 5800X and is a bit slower than a 5900X in productivity but again can beat even the best 5950x in gaming. I think the MSRP is a tad higher than I would like but it does make up a lot of ground in productivity.

i9 12900k is a joke and mainly is just for enthusiasts and shills.

Power Consumption during CPU workloads is high yes and realistically, no one should be getting one just for Rendering and such as 5900x/5950x is able to beat them while having considerably less power usage. But the power usage during gaming only isn't anywhere near as high even on the 12900k. So for just gaming, the power consumption is fine.

And of course, Unlike AMD, Intel hasn't abandoned their budget market. They will still be releasing their i5 12600, i5 12400 and etc for cheaper prices which I am sure will have insane value.

The last thing is the DDR5/PCI-E 5.0. DDR5 and motherboards in general are expensive. There is no doubt about it. But you are getting in on a platform that will last you much longer than PCI-E 4.0/DDR4. Intel does have DDR4 option for Alder Lake S and we will have to see the benchmarks on those as well as motherboard prices. But overall, I am sure an AMD system will probably end up being much cheaper than Intel system, especially as I am sure AMD will actually start discounting their 5000 series aggressively.

Overall though, Intel is back in full force. We will have to see how Zen 3d does but the most interesting fight will be Raptor Lake vs Zen 4. Exciting times ahead!

Optimum Tech did a slight DDR5 vs DDR4 comparison:

DDR5 is barely ahead of DDR4 in gaming even though DDR5 costs twice as much and sometimes, DDR5 is slightly slower than DDR4 in production workloads. Since there are a number of motherboards that gives you DDR4 + PCI-E 5 option, it could be worth it to get just that.
