DDR5 is barely ahead of DDR4 in gaming even though DDR5 costs twice as much and sometimes, DDR5 is slightly slower than DDR4 in production workloads. Since there are a number of motherboards that gives you DDR4 + PCI-E 5 option, it could be worth it to get just that.
