Looking at the some of the reviews and stuff Alderlake definitely destroy AMD Zen 3 for cost to performance.
In a huge retailer in the UK (Curry's) these are the prices for the ADL line -

Each CPU on par or lower cost than the AMD counterpart at performance of the next tier or better. I wonder if AMD will start slashing prices leading up to their refresh.
Now of course that doesn't factor in Motherboard cost, new memory etc though it does show how strong this launch is. Granted there are caveats like power consumption - if that is a factor and the need for a new and relatively beefy cooler and maybe a new PSU if you go high end.
