From what I could read on other sites, AMD really made a ton of them. One of the online retailers interviewed in one of the news said that they got more of one single 6600XT model at launch than they got of the all the 3060, 3060Ti, 3070, 3080 and 3090 models combined at launch.

As a result, the markup is quite low making the card ironically good value now, as it's main competitor in it's price class right now is the 1660, which is getting trashed by the 6600XT.

This card and it's high supply could also be the reason why the prices of AMD GPUs didn't go down much over the last couple months, AMD concentrated it's production capacity obviously on the 6600XT to have enough supply at launch.

Yea Optimum Tech that I posted earlier did a market analysis that showed it had MSRP or close to it.

Personally, I still wouldn't consider it a good value even at MSRP. There are too many issues with this card like pci-e x8, low infinity cache, low memory bus and etc. Most people that are going to spend money in this segment most likely have older systems with pci-e gen 3 which makes it have even less performance. While one could say it's good value if the person has no choice and needs a GPU now, it's very hard to openly recommend this card to anyone that has a working GPU even if it's close to MSRP because of all it's deficits.

Yeah, I forgot the crucial word that is comparatively, as in being comparatively good value right now as the next best thing in it's price class are either the 1660 (non-S or Ti) or the RX 580, both being much weaker than the 6600XT, which is actually slightly more powerful than a 2070.

I agree with you that it's not good value when dealing with absolute pricings, but then again, no GPU currently does.

Activision confirms all its core studios are now working on Call of Duty

https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/activision-confirms-all-its-core-studios-are-now-working-on-call-of-duty/

The publisher revealed the latest premium entry in the blockbuster series, Call of Duty: Vanguard, on Thursday, when it said eight of its 10 core studios are contributing to the upcoming game or the free-to-play Warzone.

I am shocked, so shocked I say. No, I'm not.

Saints Row ‘Rebooting’ website teases August 25 announcement

https://www.gematsu.com/2021/08/saints-row-rebooting-website-teases-august-25-announcement

Publisher Deep Silver and developer Volition have opened a Saints Row teaser website, which contains a brick wall with the graffiti text “Rebooting.”

I wouldn't mind a remaster of the first game since it is not on PC.

The first one doesn't surprises any of us, but it's still sad to have confirmation. One day CoD will stop selling like hotcakes and, once that happens, Activision will be in trouble.
Tho, to be honest, I thought the franchise would lose its appeal a very, very long time ago and yet it's still one of the best selling games every year.

I liked the first Saints Row, played it on my 360, but I'd much prefer a new game with new characters and map. And without superpowers (unless they're in a minigame inside the main game).

Well both Nvidia and AMD do sell their FE cards at MSRP. Nvidia sells 3060 Ti for $400 at bestbuy in US (and at MSRP in Canada) while AMD sells theirs directly through AMD.com. I believe they restock every week to every two weeks. But they are very hard to get as Bestbuy is in-store only while needing to camp for 20 hours if not longer and AMD.com sells out instantly. And of course, if you don't live in Canada/US, you don't get FE pricing from Nvidia.

I do agree overall with what you are saying. But I still wouldn't suggest anyone buy a 6600XT even if it's in stock and at MSRP if they have a working GPU but I wouldn't tell them to buy a 1660 either or buy a 3060 at it's scalping prices. But if they need a GPU now, a 6600XT might be the only choice as the alternative is worse as you said.

If by roots you mean a modern take on GTA Vice City/San Andreas, then I'm all in.

All I ask is for a carefree but not stupid/ridiculous approach to how the game, be gameplay, story characters, etc, one big city to explore and do all kinds of sidequests like street racing (the city doesn't even need to be huge or have zones outside the city to explore), different gangs to fight for the control of the city, and a story focused on one character, us, tho I'm not against some side missions where we could take control of some of the other members of the gang.

Is that too much to ask in 2021 when we already had it 15 years ago?

Used to play so much Call of Duty during the PS3/360 gen. Now i feel nothing. Are the games bad (samey) and boring or we just move on. Bit of both i feel.

Edit: Currently playing Dodgeball game on gamepass. Enjoying it so far.

Really wanna see stuff like this in games this gen:

^So... when he showed the lava, did anyone else think that it looked more like blood?

Cool video, by the way, but it's not like we get a lot of games where we interact with fluids quite often.
