Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Epic apologizes to Ubisoft for Division 2 fraud rate Epic exhibit DX-3536 from Epic/Apple lawsuit

https://twitter.com/simoncarless/status/1389380584498028544?s=20

"I'm writing to apologize for the shortcomings in our Epic Games store implementation and our Uplay integration.

In the past 48 hours, the rate of fraudulent transactions on Division 2 surpassed 70% and was approaching 90%. Sophisticated hackers were creating Epic accounts, buying Ubisoft games with stolen credit cards, and then selling the linked Uplay accounts faster than we were disabling linked Uplay purchases for fraud.

To stop the fraud, we disabled purchasing of Ubisoft games.

The fault in this situation is entirely Epic's, and all of the minimum revenue guarantees remain in place to ensure our performance."

Full apology is at the link.

It's because of things like that, and the forum hack from several years ago, that it doesn't surprise me that so many gamers still haven't bought a thing from them.

By the way, I'm surprised you haven't posted the Navi 31 rumor from WccfTech.

I'm more worried about the quality of the game, to be honest. Saints Row 2 and The Third are great games but, despite its superpowers, 4 wasn't as good and Gat out of Hell was even worse.

I hope the years between the last game and the new one, and the failure of Agents of Mayhem, means that Volition will give it all. Their future may depend on it.

I actually posted the original tweet before wccftech made an article about it a bit ago and I added what red tech gaming said about the IO die and 160 CUs from the tweet thread. Although personally I don't believe in what Red Tech gaming says as he was the one that also stated that RT performance of RDNA 2 will be pretty close to Ampere but we all know how that turned out. But it certainly wouldn't surprise me if it's 3x if the rumors are true.

I don't know how reliable at RedtechGaming are, but we're using Videocardz and WccfTech so...

Anyway, the parts that caught my interest are the ones where they state that it will be thre times more powerful (we'll see if it's true or not but with twice the CUs and shaders it should be close to that), that the RT performance will be around Ampere levels (so Nvidia's next gen should beat AMD again), and that it won't have dedicated cores to handle their Super Resolution tech.

Yea it will be interesting to say the least. I do wonder if the cores will be similar to how Amperes setup is where Ampere has a crazy amount of cores but they are potato cores compared to Turing and RDNA 2. But because there's so many of them, they end up being like a super potato and having really good performance. I remember when people were coming up with crazy performance increases for Ampere after seeing the amount of cores in the rumour mill and while Ampere ended up being a pretty good leap compared to Turing, it's not the crazy leap that some of the others suggested.

The difference is that all those cores comes from a higher number of CUs, not because AMD is doubling its numbers per CU or SM as Nvidia did.

Navi 21 XTX = 80 CUs and 5120 shaders => Navi 31 XTX = 160 CUs and 10240 shaders

Yea that's true. It will be pretty crazy leap if it does become a reality. Hell if it really does perform 2-3x, it really will be the "Greatest Generational Leap."

We will see how it goes though. Cause it almost sounds too good to be true.

If yall have an hour to kill and are interested is the Apple vs Epic case, I'd recommend watching this video as he gives you a good summary based on the past 2 days of the court case.

What it comes down to is this:

Apple says their 30% is the industry standard and gives examples of consoles. They say that if Epic wins, it will have Industry wide ramifications and consoles will be forced to lower their 30% as well. Apple also says that it doesn't make any sense for Epic to target them instead of say Sony because Apple takes less money from them compared to Sony who takes 30% + additional money for crossplay while Apple only takes 30%.

Judge also fears that this will affect the entire Tech sector.

Epic Argues that this will only affect iPhones because iPhones aren't subsidized therefore Apple doesn't need 30% similar to PCs where as consoles are heavily subsidized and therefore makes almost no money and requires 30% to make money. Also that iPhones are general purpose devices like Android and PCs which allows side loading of apps where as consoles are specialized devices.

There's more but those seem to be the big points so far.

Exclusive info about Intel’s Alder Lake-S – Will the Intel Core-1800 be a threat to AMD? | igor´sLAB

https://www.igorslab.de/en/exclusive-data-to-intel-alder-lake-s-hot-fight-with-amd/

"The revision B0 of this ES is still quite early and the base clock is also still quite low with only 1800 MHz. More interesting are the Turbo Boost limits of the big cores, where 1-2 cores are already supposed to reach 4.6 GHz, with 3-4 cores it’s still 4.4 GHz, with 5-6 cores 4.2 GHz and with all 8 cores then 4 GHz. The small Atom cores clock with up to 3.4 GHz with <=4 used cores, otherwise only with 3 GHz.

According to the initial information, the new desktop CPUs will support up to dual-channel DDR5-4800 memory and the DDR4-enabled motherboards will support modules up to 3200-MHz. Supposedly, only the high-end Z690 motherboards will offer DDR5 support

The CPU will have 16 PCIe Gen5 capable lanes and in addition 4 lanes in PCIe Gen4 standard.

TDP of 125 watts. PL2 of a whopping 228 watts"

Fortnite raked in $9.1 billion over two years
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-raked-in-dollar91-billion-over-two-years/
As once-confidential court documents continue to emerge from Epic's ongoing legal battle with Apple, it's now been revealed that Fortnite earned a staggering $9.1 billion between 2018 and 2019.
In a financial presentation dated January 2020 (via The Verge), Epic reports that the battle royale raked $5.8 billion in 2018 and $3.7 billion in 2019. That grossly outshines any other game owned by Epic (including Rocket League and Battle Breakers), which account for $108 million over those 2 years. The Unreal Engine achieved a more impressive $220 million—over double what non-Fortnite games earned, but still vastly less than Fortnite itself.
>> Hot damn!

Blizzard is losing millions of players across all of its games
https://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-is-losing-millions-of-players-across-all-of-its-games/
Activision Blizzard's latest financial results reveal that Blizzard lost another two million players across its games in just three months.
As spotted by MassivelyOP, Blizzard's monthly active users fell from 29 million in February (Q4 2020) to 27 million in this quarter's results. The outlet notes that this is part of a steady trend for Blizzard, which has lost 11 million players in the last three years—a 29% drop in players across all titles.
That said, Blizzard isn't exactly struggling. The developer's revenue increased 7% year-over-year, driven heavily by World of Warcraft: Shadowlands' release. Hearthstone's latest expansion, Forged in the Barrens, also performed strongly, with Blizzard reckoning it's on track to outperform its previous expansion for the second consecutive release.
>> And that's despite Overwatch gaining 10 million players.

The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen – Second Preview Comparison Video
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/the-witcher-3-hd-reworked-project-nextgen-second-preview-comparison-video/
Modder ‘Halk Hogan’ has released the second preview comparison video for The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen. This new video showcases some of the new textures that will be included in it.
Do note that this is a mod and has nothing to do with the official Next Gen Update that CD Projekt RED is currently working on. We also don’t know whether this mod will be compatible with The Witcher 3 Next Gen. According to the modder, though, HDPR may be included in the official next-gen update.

New Demo Areas, FOV & Semi-Nude Cassandra Mods for Resident Evil Village
https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance-analyses/new-areas-fov-semi-nude-cassandra-mods-for-resident-evil-village/
The first mods for the PC demo of Resident Evil Village have appeared online and we are presenting you the most interesting ones. These mods should, theoretically, be compatible with the final version when it comes out on May 7th.
>> There are 4 mods, but there's another one...

There's already a mod to turn Lady D into Thomas the Tank Engine
https://www.pcgamer.com/theres-already-a-mod-to-turn-lady-d-into-thomas-the-tank-engine/
Resident Evil Village modders got up early this week, I guess. The game's not even out yet and already the demo has been modded to add Barney the Dinosaur, and that's not all. Lady Dimitrescu is no longer the internet's favorite tall vampire lady, thanks to modder Crazy Potato, who has given her the terrifying face of Thomas the Tank Engine. Just the face, though. Which is kind of worse because it reminds me of the sketches of Thomas showing his entire body inside the train, images that will haunt me forever.
The Count Theodora mod requires you first install the Fully Mod Manager for RE8, as well as a mod to replace the daughters with Lady Dimitrescu so that you can fight her in the demo. Instructions are on the NexusMods page, where Resident Evil Village has its own section already.
