I will say that as a side note, I do love playing Starcraft 2 in my current PC because of how silent it is. The fans on the 3080 don't even ramp up and the CPU cooler stays at low RPM since the game is very single core heavy. Dem sweet sweet 200+ fps.

Intel Xe-HPG engineering sample leaks

-According to Moore’s Law is Dead Intel Xe-HPG SKU with 512 EUs might feature boost clocks up to 2.2 GHz
-16GB GDDR6 memory and a 256-bit bus
-TDP of 275W
-Xe-HPG with 512 EUs will offer performance between GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080
-Intel is working on its DLSS competitor, which is internally called XeSS
-TSMC 6nm

Now MLID has had a funky track record. While he was good with his AMD leaks, he was very off with his Ampere leaks. So it really could be anything. But having a picture of sorts is a good start.

Personally I do hope that Intel is competitive, especially in the low-mid end which is where they seem to be targeting. If there's one thing Raja did that was good at AMD was come out with the RX480 at around $200 which is still a very killer price point. But being at Intel, they also have the nonsense price of i9 11900k. So we will see where it goes. But hopefully, Intel doesn't goof this cause the time is right for a good third competitor to come out.

275W on 6nm damn. And between a 3070 and 3080 :o I mean if I can get ahold of one I'd be one happy camper! Another DLSS alternative too lol, hopefully we'll see a universal standard for this cause between DLSS, Super Resolution, Direct ML (latter two remains to be seen) and now XeSS there's too many to juggle between xD

I wonder how Intel they'll price Xe-HPG.. maybe $500-550? Would cost a bit more than a RTX 3070 while offering more VRAM while still being cheaper than a RX 6800.

Yea Nvidia's early investment into DLSS is paying off quite a bit as there is nothing that is an alternative yet. Intel certain has the money and R&D to make a competitor but we will see. Hopefully it will actually be out instead of Super Resolution that seems to keep getting delayed and DirectML which no one uses yet.

And yea, I am hoping it will be around $500 but hard to tell with Intel. Hopefully at the very least, they can really bring in the competition to the $200-$500 market.

I'm still hoping Intel will actually make a good offer for high end card users, because I was wanting something along the lines of a 3080/ti, just with more VRAM, but not costing stupid amounts of cash. I paid around £650 for my 1080ti yonks ago, and I'm fine with the 600-800ish range, but not £900+.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I just hope Intel gets their own fabs up to speed. I really want someone outside Asia to make GPU and CPU cards as an alternative to the Taiwan bound GPUs.

Seems like I've chosen a shit generation to build a rig. Few components at proper prices, Intel CPUs are unimpressive and no GPU of any quality available anywhere. I might just wait for the next iteration of chipsets and components instead at this rate. By that time there might be more to choose from in way of displays as well, my preferred specs are available only in a very limited number of panels today.

It's mainly why I'm holding off until next year, because last yr and this yr are quite crap for prices and component choices.

Hopefully by next year we'll see DDR5 taking off more, GPU supply and new chips aplenty (big hope for the latter).

Yeah, lots of converging factors causing a wide range of issues. I mean, look at the stock situation for the PS5 and Xbox Series X as well, the whole market is just a mess right now. I can wait, it'll be an insane upgrade at any rate!
